Great staff, fantastic food and an atmosphere that makes you feel valued and welcome all delivered in a clean modern location is definitely a recipe for success.. and it shows.. The Purple Mangosteen is now on my "places i want to stay" list.. its just that so many other people also think this, and getting a room may be difficult..... More

A clean boutique hotel run by a lovely Khamer woman at a great price point. Little noisy at rush hour times as noise travels up the stair well, but for the price and location its a small compromise. The bottom part of the spiral staircase needs a banister rail which they addressing.

As our guest may have read in the previous comment we are now working with the architect to find a nice compatible solution for the handrail at the bottom of the stairs. Thanks for the suggestions which we always try to take in to consideration. More

I stayed at this little boutique hotel the weekend for Angkor Wat half Marathon. First impression of the place was that it was located right at the heart of the old quarters, wedged in between the night market and pub street. I got a 4 pax bedroom that came with 2 single beds and a king size one. The room... More

Stayed for two nights and the rooms are a delight. Hotel is central up a quiet street with an excellent bar/lounge area Ideal for people watching. Food was excellent and the hostess extremely helpful. Slight criticisms would be central spiral staircase whilst querky may be difficult to negotiate. There is also a roof terrace which is open to the public,... More

We were happy to get this kind of feedback which is very helpful and would like to ensure our guest that following their points and further discussion with the architects concerning the stairs they are now designing a new handrail and we are also reviewing the question of whether to limit the access to the terrace for guests only. This small boutique hotel has only a 6 rooms, it's ideally located in the heart of Siem Reap with a lot of resturants markets and shops nearby. The manager Polly (she speak a perfect english and Italian) is really a kind person, very helpful; she arranged for us an Angkor temple sunrise tour simply perfect and at good price. The... More

The Purple Mangosteen is a fantastic new small boutique hotel. And it really can be termed a boutique hotel unlike many others that use this term here but are far from being boutique. Situated right in the middle of the action, it is a nicely designed aesthetic with wood & natural accents, grey tones & ofcourse a bit of purple!... More

Contrary to a purple prose where everything is so ornate or flowery to distract the readers from the real deal, I will be direct in this review. First, Its blast-spanking clean and not just it looks clean but its really clean. Second, the staff will really go out of their way. Our transport going back to Thailand is early like... More

Small, friendly, clean, comfortable and in a superb location, this hotel was exactly what we were looking for -- and more. On a walking street in the heart of the tourist part of Siem Reap, the Purple Mangosteen could not be better located. You're in the bustle but not of it - by 10-11 pm the surrounding shops are closed,... More

When the chalk board at the entrance displaying dinner specials and 2-for-1 cocktails stated "Quick, not yet in *Lonely Planet* guide book," I paused for a second look: Modern design, and spiral stairs, svelte wooden and leather chairs and mirrored clean scene...what was this anomaly in the midst of Siem Reap? They had a photo of a rooftop terrace that... More

Stayed for 4 nights, hotel is super clean and modern. Stayed in a hotel up the road first and for same price was dirty and unhelpful and noisy! design and attention to detail is excellent here. Breakfast is full English and so nice, there is large Italian influence in this hotel so the food and drinks compliment this.great ingredients. Polly... More
