the room was very basic, refrigerator/television/aircon/comfort room but the ambience of the place were traditional and the owner is very kind. would recommend it if you want to save money and feel the rustic environment of siem reap

i am not really a fan of the new siem reap with its tourist hordes and brutal commercialism. luckily i came here about 25 years ago and had angkor wat and surroundings all to myself. anyway BUN KAO was a nice oasis away from it all. loved the free bottled water as it was quite hot and needed. fully recommended.......

This place is ok, fan, big bed and quite quiet. The people working there are smiling and helpful. Its located not so fat from the old market by foot, around 15 min. And clothes to the local food too, away from the touristic area. You can go there ! :)

We liked it here so much that we ended up staying an extra four nights. Mr Kao and his family are incredibly gracious hosts and they made us feel very welcome. Before opening his guesthouse, Mr Kao worked for an NGO assisting rural children attend school. If you have the time, he has a very interesting story to tell. Room:... More

Great Location (north side of town) for visiting the temples and being close enough to town to stop in. Best of all, the staff is extremely helpful. Mr. Bun Kao arranged my visa to Vietnam for me, showed me how to get around, offers everyone free water refills, and provided a good solid breakfast to start the day, along with... More

We rented an A/C room but the power was gone for two days at the hotel so it was really HOT and DARK in the rooms! They had no generator and could not supply us with torches like most other hotels do, so we cannot recommend staying here. The owner is very nice though and speaks good english!

I came to siem reap and occasionally found bun Mao guesthouse. But that was the right choice! Rooms start from 6$, but look nice and clean, polite staff and good food. All balconies have chairs and a lot of flowers- nice to spend time there if you want to read book or to stay with your friends. Location is not... More

This place was very pleasant and clean. The owner and his staff of family members did an excellent job. The pricing was great ($10 a night) and breakfast was good. I booked it through Agoda and was very content here. It's quiet and the balconies offer nice touches for reading, chatting or internet. Would definitely go back and honestly recommend... More

Staying here, you'll know you're at Khmer guesthouse - you leave your shoes at the entrance. Being on a little spur off a short stretch of unimproved road, it's quiet, but still within easy walking distance, and even easier tuktuk diistance of everything. The tuktuk drivers who linger in the street will try to get your business, but they're also... More
