How this place got such a high rating on trip advisor, I'll never know. We stayed for two nights and I couldn't wait to leave. Do not be fooled by the photos on the website, they are very misleading . The room was dark and was looking straight into the neighbours house. The curtains need to be kept drawn or... More

We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, with great english skills. Lovely breakfast and a good selection of dishes on the menu. Room was very clean and water was kept topped up. Hotel itself was a work of art! Although many are against going with organised tours, we fully recommend Shining Angkor's selection. The hotel is very close to... More

As for good things, this hotel has beautiful wood furniture, the room was pretty, guests were limited, the pool was nice, and their restaurant had good food. Now, what lead up to us leaving. Didn't pick us up from the airport as promised, couldn't find our reservation, no working TV, AC took a while to kick in, only had one... More

Went there for a leisure trip after my service trip to Phnom Penh. Firstly, the location is great. It's actually quite accessible to a lot of attractions via their transportation (tuk tuk). Secondly, the staff are really helpful and caring. They can speak English well. Guess what? The receptionist who served me and my friends on the first day of... More

There is nothing "trendy" about Shining Angkor--it has a very formal and elegant look about it. As one other reviewer noted, it is almost like being in a furniture store, with oversized carved seating lined up in all the public areas. That said, our room was spotless and absolutely beautiful, with a lovely balcony and large, inviting wooden-slat chaise (that,... More

We stayed 2 nights while visiting Angkor Wat. We were pleasantly surprised about the rooms. They are clean, comfortable and the bathrooms even have separate showers with a shower curtain. Note that there is no elevator, just stairs. The western breakfast is really good (i had french toast with real syrup, and my boyfriend had scrambled eggs, pancakes and bacon),... More

OK for a couple of nights, but it is irritating to have to wait 10 minutes to get a toast with jam each breakfast - therefore a few nights. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to Angkor as well as to Siem Reap

This is a 3 star hotel with a 5 star service. The hotel has 2 buildings. The real hotel faces the street while the other building, more for longer stays, faces a back lane. These 2 buildings are not connected. The room is clean and adequately furnished. The staff are friendly and eager to help despite the language barrier. The... More

Good things first: hotel communicated well prior to arrival and arranged free airport pick up via tuk tuk which was excellent & fun too. The hotel is perfectly placed for a visit to Angkor Wat. They can arrange everything for you easily. They have some lovely staff (one of the waitresses in particular) & all of the tuk tuk drivers... More

i managed to up end my self for no reason other than my own stupid idiocy in my room, I've never had hotel staff go out of there way for me in the way they did. I was even given the same tuk tuk driver ever day as he knew my needs and could help me with my injuries. I... More
