This was our very first stay in a bed and breakfast and I can only hope that all of them are as nice as the inn run by Mr. Kelly. He was very hospitable and the inn is lovely. I booked the Pitney House because their prices were very competative if not better then the local hotels in the area.... more

Easy to find, this historic property consists of a mansion filled with antiques and valuable paintings (or copies thereof), and a classic contemporary duplex carriage house, also very tastefully decorated with that early American look. The jacuzzi tub might interest some. Plenty of towels and quilts. We were permitted to bring our dog. A pet friendly forum. Neighborhood is very... more

Ten years ago, (1997) my husband and I spent our first night together after our wedding at the Dr. Jonathan Pitney House. It's a warm, clean, colonial, Bed and Breakfast, where you walk in and smell fresh baked goods baking in the oven. Immediately we felt right at home! The room we stayed in was the "Jonathan room", with hardwood floors,... more

We can spend paragraphs cataloging our episodic adventure at the Dr. Jonathan Pitney house, and then justify our position to you, the reader, who knows not from where we come. In order to spare us both the process we'll just tell you this: We frequently patronize B & B's. While we prefer to stay at the Ritz, B & B's... more

My husband and I are musicians and have worked in various Casinos for a few consecutive nights at a time. We absolutely love this place and have stayed here on several occasions. It is located on a quiet lot just off of Route 30, which has a load of restaurants and shops. It's a short jaunt to A.C. The breakfast... more

My husband and I wanted a quick, romantic getaway. We are cyclists, so we planned a 52 mile ride through the Pine Barrens, then an overnight stay at Dr. Pitney's. I was so excited that we'd be staying in a place with such historical charm, antiques etc. and for under $100! We went on our ride and had arranged to... more

After reading some of the reviews, I have to disagree. We stayed in the Seaview room which was lovely. This is a historical building so there is going to be some wear and tear but the house is charming. Our room was very cozy and the breakfast in the morning was very delicious. The owner is a very nice man... more

The Pitney House has some lovely furnishings but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable not to mention very short. The place was generally unkemp and not well maintained (paint peeling, things broken, etc.). Security is terrible- the owner told us that he NEVER locks the back door, even... more

It is not what you see on the internet. We thought we were staying in that beutiful house in the front. Not so, when we arrived we were told it was going to be the house in the back. We had to walk across the dirty yard where dogs were staying with no water. Very bad maintainence of the buildings... more

It was definitely a beautiful house and it just stops there. Though our room was nicely decorated, the mattress was of bad quality, not comfortable & squeked when we rolled over. Moreover, the house was on the main street leading to the beach and the windows had only one layer so we could hear cars passing by all nite. The... more
