It reminded me of a Spanish holiday hotel in Benidorm. Brunch was served blocking the passage way and we had to take a detour around the hotel to check out. Reminded me of a 'Carry On' film The service seemed superfluous to clients and was more like job creation. The client should use the hotel and not the hotel use... More

The Gran Hotel in the centre of the city is ideally located for easy access to the main plaza, about 21/2 blocks away. There was an atrium where breakfast was served . The coffee was excellent as well as the local fruit, juices and other dishes. The rooms were very spacious with a big king size bed and all the... More

Stayed here when the American Airlines flight broke down and they paid for the hotel. Now it could be that they were just not used to the number of people checking in and had not checked all the rooms but our room was a dump! I probably should have gone back to reception and demanded another room but after being... More

Everything is so wrong with this property that I don't know where to start. I can remember few hotels where I've felt so helpless. I encourage everyone not to stay here. It's extremely expensive for what you get. I was staying for 3 nights but after the 1st one I left immedately and checked in Cortez Hotel, also in the... More

Every town in Latin America has a 'Gran' Hotel. I look for them. They are located in the center of downtowns, are built big and first-class, and are invariably a generation out-of-date. Gran Hotel Santa Cruz is a prime example. (plaque in lobby: 'since 1952') This one has a nice, big atrium restaurant and does a trade in meetings. Pool... More

This hotel has seen better days, and might need some attention. Some colleagues has problems with showers in the morning, such as not having hot water or not having water at all. Staff was so-so.

As previous reviews have noted, a major decorative overhaul is looong overdue at this 70s relic. However if you want a large clean room with a good bed and decent bedding, good bathroom, wifi, TV and minibar, attentive friendly service and a central location, it's fine. The pool is large and deep, and although the water is mysteriously opaque, it's... More

I wanted to write a review of this hotel since I'll be going back their for another weekend soon. I was there back in Sept 2009 for 2 weekends. The staff is great. Always courteous and always available to assist. From the point of booking to the point of checking out- I had a pleasant experience. Their location was great... More

The accomodations are very old. It appears to have been luxurious one day, but not anymore. The room is dusty and my friend got an allergy from being there. If you open the windown (bedroom's), you will see lots of pigeons outside and their dirt, which is a little disgusting. The blanket is old too. It's located downtown, which is... More
