Vitebsk is a delightful city well worth visiting. The Luchesa has good rooms and awful rooms. We asked for a king bedded room and got a room sized for a king. The furniture was old but in good condition and clean. The bed was not great but not bad. We walked into a large, fully furnished living room dining room.... More

We did not stay there since 2011,and in three years there are three changes: a new TV, free wifi, and finally blinds on the windows! However, no english channels, restaurant still charges in rooms during the room service, same old squeaky furniture in the apartments, same old beds and linens. The cupboard makes horrible sounds when opened! The young security... More

Plenty of hot water, clean room, towels and bed linen, sufficient toiletries, free in room wi-fi. I found no English language tv channels, the remote for the aircon was missing (there was an openable window), the room safe was idiosyncratic and I could hear my neighbours' tv through the walls. The presence of an ashtray suggested smoking was permissible but... More

The eastern Belarus town of Vitebsk is well-worth a visit with a lot of cultural heritage and an attractive city centre. The Hotel Luchera is one of only a couple of hotels, situated just outside the city centre but within easy reach on foot or by frequent bus/tram. It is a modern 14-storey hotel built around 2004. The lobby is... More

For rates they charge I would agree with fellow travellers: it's a bit odd to complain, the hotel is much cleaner & breakfasts are much better than any 3* average european hotels in the range up to EUR 100 double room per night. Service is very nice, there is guest parking for your car, hotel is located on some large... More

Felt like being in a time warp and we had gone back to the early 1950's in a poor country. The room is small and uncomfortable, with lousy furniture, lousy design, lousy bathroom, lousy TV. Did not sleep well here. Thankfully, it was only one night. Included breakfast was also lousy with inadequate seats for the patrons. Belarus was a... More

What can I say - this hotel is awful - but it is the best hotel in town. It is the old communist hotel - with that atmosphere. The staff say "No - what is the question". The decor is old and very garish. The decor is old and feels unclean. The rooms feel unclean. The bed linen is well... More

This hotel was built in 2004 and is a functional hotel catering for business and leisure travellers. The staff is competent and helpful with some speaking English others not. What stands out the most is the absolutely outstanding value for money 25 EUR (June '11) for a single room. How could you complain about anything, for such a price? The room... More

After booking I read previous two reviews and was frightened slightly :D What a shame for me ! This hotel would be quite a bad experience in Emirates or France, but you always have to keep in mind that this is Belarus. Hotel was nice and tidy. Due to heavy packed windows it is not possible to hear anything although... More

There is no reason why anyone would visit Belarus - but we did! We had a 1 night stay here, before moving swiftly through to Poland. The hotel is a throw back from the 60s, horrible green rooms with poor facilities and the smallest lifts I've ever seen. The breakfast are good standard for the area. Please note: don't be... More
