Several of the rooms in the motel are newly renovated. The beach motel is not renovated yet, but the rooms up by the road have been. This is as of 2014. New paint, new linens, new curtains. Much nicer now!

Most uncomfortable night I’ve ever spent in a hotel….and I’ve traveled through Africa on a shoestring budget. You simply can’t call this place a resort. It’s gross and expensive. The dingy room was tiny, dark, and cramped. The bed was rock hard with 2 flat pillows and rough, paper-like sheets. My boyfriend and I stayed here while traveling to a... More

I have spent many vacations at Sandy Point from the time I was a child vacationing in one of the cabins with family, til now, 40+ years later. On our recent stay we brought our boat and thought it was great that we could launch it right from the resort. We stayed in the motel near the road, and even... More

We stayed there for a week last summer in the beach apartments, and even though it did seem run down at first, it was totally fine. The windows don't close all the way but people have to be quiet after 11 pm. Our shutters had gaps in them. We told the management, and a nice guy put in new shutters... More

If you are prissy and in need of constant high maintenance, this is not the place for you. If you are a nature lover and have kids that love to swim and fish, then this is the place for you. We just spent 9 days at Sandy Point in a hillside efficiency room and found everything to be blissful. Staff... More

My husband and I stayed in a motel room for two nights at the Sandy Point Beach Resort right up front near the road. The room was exactly what we expected, no more, no less. Bathroom, towels, sheets, and fridge were all very clean. We had a great view of Alton Bay from our back slider. I felt comfortable and... More

This hotel/motel whatever it is reminds me of a horror movie hotel..dirty sheets, rugs, cobwebs everywhere, behind the bed's on the wood panel walls were covered in spider webs and dirt..soo disgusting. The bathroom was so gross I didn't even want to shower in there. I laid out beach towels to sleep on and used one of my beach towels... More

I've been familiar with Sandy point for about 4 years. Friends of ours have a seasonal cabin rental, and we visited them and eventually we wound up with our own seasonal rental. We are there nearly every weekend Memorial Day to Columbus Day. First of all, this is definitely a retro kind of place, which is the whole reason I... More

Didn't stay, but wanted to make reservations at the ONLY motel in the bay area, except for the Horse and Buggy, which I haven't checked out yet, but after reading the reviews, I'll only go to the restaurant and stay far away from the accommodations. For years I always thought it "must" be a great place. Too bad...it's the only... More

To call this place a "resort" is an overstatement. It is a motel and has some cabins. We stayed one night and that was enough! The motel room was very musty smelling which we noticed as soon as we opened the door. They took the knobs off the air conditioning so that the temperature could not be adjusted. The decor... More
