Had been surfing google earth for accomodation around Alamo and found the Windmill Ridge. I rang from Australia as there is no online booking and receive excellent service for my reservation.On arrival the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the cabins are an absolute delight. We drive from Sun Valley through Las Vegas every year and always stop inbetween for the night. Windmill Ridge has nice cabins, very clean. Also, the reataurant has good quality food. The staff is friendly and efficient. Even though it is on the road it is nice and quiet. more

If you're passing through nothern Nevada and plan on stopping for the night try to make your way to Alamo, NV and the Windmill Ridge Lodge. On our way up to Idaho we stayed in Ely, NV which was just horrible, but on our way back down we got a tip from a local that mentioned this new place in... more
