We were looking for a weekend getaway and was lucky enough to find H S Clay House Bed and Breakfast. The main house was absolutely beautiful and the cottage was so cute and romantic. I have to admit the main reason we wanted to stay was because of the great reviews Allen received for his culinary skills, we were not... More

You are very thoughtful to take the time to write a review Lora, thank you! We cannot say how much we enjoyed you and Pat and the wonderful conversations that we had together. We have been running this B & B for almost 20 yrs. and of course cannot remember every guest but, I will remember you. I truly hope... More

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the H.S. Clay House. The breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were very gracious. The decor was like walking through a well decorated museum. We throughly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and being within walking distance to Mount Pleasant and the Augusta Brewery.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do a review! As we had discussed at breakfast, it is one of the main ways (you included) in how people find where they'd like to stay. The word of mouth has always been the best way to advertise! It was a pleasure meeting both of... More

The Turret Room was a great place for a silent retreat, to refresh and renew after some very difficult months at work (I work in the behavioral health field) and a family member's medical issues. I would love to go back, if for no other reason than the peacefulness of having the place to myself mid-week, and Alan's exceptional culinary... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to get to visit H.S. Clay House twice recently. The first time we stayed in Robert's Room in the main house and the second time we stayed in the Guest Cottage right next to the main house. We loved both arrangements and were completely happy. Of course the Guest House offers more privacy... More

I had a great time, excellent atmosphere with the best of hosts. I recommend anyone staying in Augusta to stop in the CH CLAY home. Alans food is awesome, and his wife is one of the most generous host I've ever met.

Our hosts were gracious, and the house was a wonder. Everywhere we turned there was a special detail to look at showing the history of the house. The garden was a real pleasure, and the hot tub was especially appreciated after a long day of cycling. Alan's breakfast was a gourmet delight, which we lingered over in friendly conversation with... The feeling of this B&B was like staying in a Museum, with ample collections to examine from the Victorian era. The food was excellent, with everything presented so beautifully. If one is tired from cycling the Katy Trail, there is a hot tub to soak away sore muscles. The only challenge that might present is that the stairway to the... More

We came for our 6th year anniversary. This should be the number 1 B&B in Augusta. The entire experience was wonderful, so much to do, tons of sitting areas and fire pits all over outside, great hot tub, pool, gardens and fountains, and the hosts treat you like their own children and sit and talk with you after breakfast which... Leigh and Allen are wonderful hosts! Allen, the chef, makes a wonderful 3 course gourmet breakfast and Leigh helps to serve it. We stayed at the cottage access the street and it was beautiful and cozy with a king bed and 2 fireplaces. The B&B was across the quiet street where we had our breakfasts. It was quiet, relaxing and... More

Wonderful location! Very close to the brewery. Nice property with pool and hot tub. The entire house is decorated with very unique antiques and the owner Leigh is very friendly. We left a couple items and Leigh was nice enough to ship them.
