My husband and I spent two nights at the H.S. Clay House. We were graciously upgraded from a room to a suite because the pool was closed (the deck was being stained). We first visited the HS Clay House Thanksgiving weekend 2006. We were the only people there and had total run of the property even though we booked the guest cottage. I have stayed at the H.S. Clay House the last 3 years in the spring. The property is very eclectic and fasinating. Leah and Alan are charming and Alan is an outstanding chef. Over the last three years they have continued to make improvements to the property and it just gets better each time we have stayed. more

The H.S. Clay House is, by far, our favorite place to "get- away"! My husband and I have stayed with them 10 times, during the past 8 years. The decor is absolutely beautiful, warm and inviting. My husband and I have been to quite a few bed and breakfasts in Missouri over the years and we keep going back to the H. S. Clay House. Leigh and Alan Buehre, the proprietors, are simply the finest hosts.H. S. Clay House has excellent rooms, beautiul surroundings, and real gourmet food.
