My wife and I were allocated a Suite with sitting room and kitchen; a good view of the Lake, and an enormous balcony at a very reasonable rate. Even with the current unfavourable exchange rate we paid around 20% less than we would for a small, cramped room in a comparable hotel in the Lake District! Our Christmas experience was... more

We have just returned from a week at this hotel over Christmas. We have spent several Christmases in St Wolfgang at other 4 Star hotels and this is definitely our favourite. We had a Junior Suite which was well worth the relatively small extra outlay. The bedroom was a fair size but the separate living room gave one a great... more

My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday at the Hotel Furian, Mein Hosts "Teddy and Michaela Furian" are caring and attentive, and you are treated as one of the family. We stayed in a junior suite (room 32) which had a separate kitchen and lounge area, also a really big balcony to enjoy the views... more

Just got back from staying at Furian Hotel for 1 week. The service and staff especially Mirasop was great. The Room was huge with a duel aspect and lake view. My husband is vegetarian and there was not a vegetarian option on the menu but the owner went out of her way to ensure that a dish was prepared for... more

An excellent hotel. Very welcoming, with splendidly comfortable rooms, bright and restful. First class attention, fine meals, friendly staff. A memorable experience. We hope to return. The Pearson family. Newbold-on-Stour, England more

We stayed in the Furian for 5 nights in August 2007. I can't believe that this is a four star hotel. The room was tiny, dark and shabby, not what you would expect from a hotel in this class. We had a room at the back with a limited view of the lake. I would advise contacting the hotel directly... more

Just returned from 1 week in St Wolfgang. Hotel was superb and food marvellous. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only fault we could find was the lack of any lounge area to retire to after dinner. St Wolfgang is vert small and quiet in the evenings and we struggled to find somewhere to sit and have a drink or... more

We've just spent ten superb days at the Hotel Furian and if there is a more welcoming, comfortable, well run and well-appointed hotel then we hope we eventually find it. Every 5-course evening meal was a delight and the breakfast buffet offered a huge choice. The staff were always courteous, helpful and very friendly. If you are thinking of visiting... more

Stayed 5 nights, first week in June 2007. Agree with comment of previous reviewer that evening meal at 32 Euro is very expensive by Austrian standards, wine list also dear. Breakfast buffet was very good, but a little repetitive with few variations. We were on bed & breakfast stay, as independent travellers we like the flexibility to eat in different... more
