Something about Econo lodge in the Midwest. They are all good. Cheap, friendly, clean and good. In the west they seem to downgrade and not be a good experience. We have stayed in 4 of these on this trip and have been pleased each time.

Motel is close to the highway next to the off-ramp (but far enough removed so that traffic noise was non-existant). The town is a couple of miles away and the sidewalks are rolled up at 5pm. However, this older re-incarnated establishment is a very pleasant surprise. The room was very modern, super-clean, well-appointed and had a very comfortable bed with... More

This is obviously a third or fourth reincarnation of a lodging establishment on the west end of Austin, MN. Don't let the exterior discourage you. The interior is well maintained, the room was spacious, management was friendly and we were well satisfied. Ask for a room on the parking lot side, the walls are a bit thin and you get... More

Arrived tried and hungry after being unable to find a room in Clear Lake, IA (at all) or Albert Lea, MN (for less than $ 90 including tax). Manager was pleasant. Place was not crowded but they put me in a room that reeked of dog urine with badly stained carpet despite the fact that I was traveling without a... More

Stayed on a Friday. Smooth check in, courteous staff. The location cannot be beat however breakfast was a disappointment after staying at 2 Super 8's along our trip. Room was clean and decorating typical of a moderately priced motel chain. All in all a good experience. Would not hesitate to stay again.

It's a very nice room I found, with microwave and 'fridge, though without upper freezer. It had room for 3 people with king size bed. Extra pillows, and heat was already on! Nice staff at check-in, nice renovations. No pool which was fine with me.

Doing a drive by. Not much to look at from the outside, but inside was ok. If you just need a bed and cup if coffee in the morning, this should do. The faint smell of curry was limited to the room behind the check in desk, so do not be alarmed

This hotel is starting to age and will need a facelift soon, but the room was okay and furnished with a fridge, microwave, and recliner. The outside of the building is starting to look rough too (it doesn't help that the gas station next door is out of business). The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. There was... More

For under $60 I got a very spacious room with king bed. It appears to be recently renovated and has 2 comfy chairs with ottoman and room to spare. No in room coffee, but 24 hours in the lobby. Fridge/micro in the room. You will need to drive a couple of miles to eat. The free breakfast was standard continental... More

I recently stayed at the Econo Lodge in Austin, MN. They have recently renovated all their rooms and installed new beds, which are very very comfortable. With great new pillows too. Had a great nights sleep every night of my four of night stay. If you are looking for low rates and clean and comfortable rooms, with a pleasant and... More
