This Americinn in Alexandria does not seem to quite measure up with the chain's usual high standards. Americinns usually have premium room rates, and the furnishings, service, etc. at this location did not seem to measure up to most of the other units in the chain.
My stepson who was staying with me also thought it a bit odd when he came back to the motel after dropping me off downtown. He stopped to use the lobby computer, and he said the gal at the front desk asked him (pleasantly) if he was staying at the hotel. A older man (about my age from what my stepson said) was also behind the front desk. Perhaps the older gentleman (owner?) told the front desk gal to ask all computer users if they are registered at the motel. My stepson felt a bit uncomfortable and left the lobby area, and said the computer didn't work anyway. (He used the public computers at the Alexandria Public Library with me later on, which is very nice by the way.)
