Made a last minute decision to stay here while passing through the area. I'm not very picky when I'm by myself and have stayed at many lower end $30 motels for a quick stay over, however I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. The special "March rate" of $50 was easily $15 -20 too high. As others have said, this... more

The hotel discussed in these reviews is no longer known as the Days Inn Albert Lea. It is now called the Albert Lea Inn. You can view the website for this hotel at www.albertleainn.com. The pool at the hotel is nice, and there are poolside rooms. We have stayed at this hotel several times since it became the Albert Lea... more

What a terrible hotel. The first room we were in had dog food on the carpet, so no one vacuumed. Then there was mold and hair in the shower and on the shower curtain. The A/C unit had the curtains going right over it. So you either had the a/c unit going and have a view of the outside of... more

I was there for a friends wedding and though the rooms were a bit outdated they were comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet in the morning was extremely inexpensive and delicious! But what really sold me was how beautiful and extravagant the reception hall facilities were done for her wedding. You wouldn't think so by just looking but this place... more

Skip this hotel. The rooms, which might have been nice in 1980, haven't stood the test of time 20 yrs. later. Horrible bedding, burn marks in carpet (even though we were in a non-smoking room), a noisy and less-than-accomodating window A/C unit, curtains that do not hang correctly and a musty smell is what awaits you. In addition, you receive... more

If we hadn't prepaid our stay with Priceline, we would have checked out!!! The first room we had - no airconditioning. They moved up to an 'upgrade' with a portable window air conditioner! That's the only saving thing about the room. It's a very old, shabby place and in dire need of upgrading. I will never book here again. Our... more

First off, the entire hotel smells like an ashtray, so if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, be aware. Secondly we stayed there during August and the circa 1955 AC unit in our room was not working. They moved us around twice and had the same problem, no AC. The "upgraded" rooms had the window AC units, which barley put... more

I'm glad we only used this hotel for a single night stopover to our vacation in the Black Hills. Even though the location was convenient off I-35, and it had a great selection of walk to places to eat, the hotel itself needed many improvements in order to compete with other hotels in the area or at nearby towns. Firstly,... more

We were told we were staying in the "new section"....if so, I hate to see what the old section is like!! The room smelled like wet carpet and in fact, felt humid also even though the carpet didnt really feel wet. The carpet had been poorly laid and the mirror in the bathroom was messed up on the bottom so... more

Stay away from this place. I booked a non-smoking room, which the front desk confirmed upon check-in. But when I got to the room, it reeked of cigarettes and had cigarette burns on the carpet and actually had cigarette butts on the floor behid the nightstand. When I called to complain, they said they could'nt move me yet but might... more
