First, let me say the evening food was delicious. They catered in from a local Italian restaurant the two nights I ate. And Mary, the housekeeper was a real delightful, upbeat, energetic gem. She brightened my day. The entrance road had quite a few large potholes, so be careful. I'm sure that's not the Fairfield's fault. In general, the hotel... More

Stayed one night for the Neil Diamond concert. Pros: Check in/out was quick and easy, hot tub in room was nice. Close to the Palace. Cons: Room was old, couch had stains all over it, walls and trim were coming apart, bed was old and bumpy, outlet cover was broken off, lamps didn't have bulbs in them, very noisy, could... More

We stayed overnight as we took our daughter to the Palace of Auburn Hills for Frozen on Ice. I was immediately disappointed when we drove up as you can tell this was an old mid-70's motel that had been converted. We had already pre-booked the room as it was close to the palace otherwise we would have left and gone... More

Dear Dawn D, Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay with us. I understand your frustration with our hotel. We have finally began renovations. But those renovations are being down in stages. Stage 1 is paint and retexturizing the walls, stage 2 is all new carpet, stage 3 will be drapery and bedding... More

Stayed for a business meeting at Oakland CC. Office figured since it had the name Marriott on it it would be ok. Wow. They were wrong. Drove in and noticed that on one side a number of the downstairs windows were covered over because they were broken out. Room was dingy, stained and the heat either was on high or... More

Dear Ldjagp, Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay with us. I am happy to respond to clarify that our first floor windows were NOT nor have never been busted out!!! In fact, the windows were covered from the inside due to renovations. We are currently stripping wallpaper and doing textured walls. The windows are covered to provide... More

I stay many nights each year in various Marriott proprieties, and in my opinion, this old hotel is unworthy of the Fairfield Inn brand. Outside entrance to each room. My walk was long, and very cold this day. The amount of salt unswept from outside walk ways was enough for the whole winter. The room was very small. I even... More

Dear Dave M. We are truly sorry that your stay was anything less than 100%!!! We are in the process of renovations so I had my staff go and check all sprinkler heads for tape and yes, we found 1 that someone forgot to pull the tape off. Also, since your review the carpet on the first floor has been... More

Rooms are looking old and need an update but the location is great if you are visiting the Palace of Auburn Hills for a Piston game. Only 3 miles away. Easy to drive by as there is only a small sign by the road and the hotel is tucked in behind a Tim Horton's. Quiet place so sleep is good.... More

We checked in and were told we would be put into a renovated room.. It was definitely not renovated.. If it was recently renovated, they need to take that contractor to court because they did a horrible job.. We get to the room and there is no garbage can.. The remote control for the TV does not work.. The bathroom... More

Dear Jswaby, Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay with us. Yes, you are correct, the only part of the renovations that are complete at this time in the room you stayed in is the wall texture. We stripped the 1st floor rooms of old wallpaper and added a textured wall along with... More

This hotel is your basic motel. It's.being renovated but still a motel with smaller rooms. Very small bathroom. On a positive note the staff were very friendly, the room clean, bed comfy and the breakfast was fresh and good. It was a good value for the price.

I usually have great experiences with Marriott lodging so I didn't think twice about making a reservation here. I won't be so careless in the future. The room I was given on the third floor smelled funny and looked run down but I thought that I could deal with it for one night. Then I found the waistbasket containing dirty... More
