This is a beautiful home with a truly private beach. Our room was large and clean. The breakfasts were very tasty (especially the chocolate-cherry muffins). I'm usually cautious about a business claiming a "lake view." But, they're not kidding with Pinewood Lodge. The facility is beautiful, and our room upstairs had windows to The Lake (as in Superior). The facility was nice however the owners Jerry & Jenny are very rude. Upon checking out at the required time (11:00 am) we placed all our luggage in the car and went for a quick swim in Lake Supirior. We stayed at the Pinewood over the Labor Day weekend and had a great time. It is right on the water with plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view. After a day of hiking the sauna felt wonderful. There was a VCR in our room with a good selection of movies to choose from in the common area.... more
