I spent three nights here, and it was ok. Quite cheap but not very clean. The carpet should be removed because it smelled and was dirty. If you're looking for a bargain hotel and not too sensitive about how clean it is, you can stay here. Beware of the free coffee though, it's nasty!! more

I stayed at the Lamp Post Inn for one night while I was in town for a concert. I wasn't expecting luxury at the price, but I was expecting cleanliness and safety, neither of which I felt I got. I had two major problems with this motel. First, my room was disgustingly dirty. The comforter had a big blood stain... more

For only $50 a night you shouldn't expect much. Unfortunately, the previous reviews on this website made me think I would be getting more than my money's worth. I walk into the room at the Lamp Post Inn and it looks like a room you should pay $50 for. Aged and peeling wallpaper, faded bedspreads, and small, flat pillows. One... more

After reading several of the reviews on this site, I thought the Lamp Post Inn would provide clean, budget lodging for a quick buzz into the city to visit my in-laws. This was incorrect. We paid $55 a night for a room infested with ants. Other concerns were numerous stains on the pull away sofa couch, a bathroom door that... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lamp Post Inn for six nights in early November 2007 and, being at the beginning of an extended trip around the States, chose this motel as budget-conscious travellers. We paid $39 a night (before tax) and for that money we did not expect 5* luxury - I think for that price the most... more

I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews and went to see the Lamp Post Inn a few evenings before booking two nights in a single room. The woman at the reception that was kind and efficient. I mentioned to her that I saw online that the rate was $10 less. She just asked me which website I saw it and... more

My husband and I stayed at the Lamp Post Inn for one night - we wanted to break up the drive from Cincinnati to Glen Arbor. Check in was fine - our reservation was in order and the clerk was nice. I will admit I was disappointed, and maybe even a little nervous by the time we got the bags... more

My husband and I stayed here a few months ago, back when he was still just my fiance. We stayed for 3 days, as we were on an intense apartment hunt (we were looking for a place to live when we moved from Baltimore, MD to Ann Arbor later on in the year). For $39 per night plus taxes, this... more

I didn't expect a lot other than a clean room for the $ spent, but I did not even get that! We got in late from traveling with my young son and the place looked clean enough, but the next morning I discovered my slippers were sticking to the carpet and the bathroom floor. The entire carpet was filthy and... more

The Lamppost Inn is a relatively old hotel. The bathroom fixtures, the furniture, it's all older than what you would find in a typical hotel. However, my wife and I found it to be clean and generally pleasant. The towels are tiny and thin...so if that is important to you, stay somewhere else. There is also no bathtub, only a... more
