Sure, it's the cheapest place to stay in Ann Arbor. And yes, the rooms are livable. But this place has seen better days. The rooms are very worn, the "free wireless internet" only works in the lobby (when I called the desk, the attendant said, "Yeah, we've had problems with that for a long time."), and the "continental breakfast" consists... more

The Lamp Post Inn offers a fresh, clean, attractive, comfortable room with a fridge and microwave. It's 2 miles from the freeway, and downtown is 5 minutes away. The staff is friendly and helpful. I happily spend the $50- $100 I save on the delightful dining and shopping in Ann Arbor. The continental breakfast is bland, but we enjoy the... more

I met my girlfriends in Ann Arbor for a "girl's weekend." We are all on a budget and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel room, especially since we weren't going to be spending a lot of time there. The room was clean and it smelled great. The refrigerator was a nice perk. The staff was... more

The Inn is located about a ten-minute drive from downtown Ann Arbor and is a good place to stay if you're on a limited budget and really just need a place to sleep for the night. Free wireless is a plus, and the bed was quite comfortable. Friendly staff, as well. The continental breakfast was really nothing to write home... more

Super friendly staff - especially blond gal at night. She was very helpful. The rooms are okay, but for the price a bargain. I met the young housekeeper and she was also friendly and nice. I would recommend this as a nice family run place to stay, but not much frills. more

I read several of the reviews and wasn't really sure but a friend of mine told me they always stayed there. I met her in Ann Arbor last month while interviewing at the University of Michigan hospital and was very pleased. The room was large, clean and certainly a bargain. I would gladly stay here again. Great staff. more

In visiting my daughter at the University of Michigan I was pleased to see that the location of Lamp Post Inn was great. Not too far from campus, but close to Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Barnes and Nobles. That was the only positive thing I can say. The first night we stayed in a room where it was apparent... more

The hotel was in an amazing location. The staff was great very helpful with all matters. Getting around the city, providing information including maps, phone numbers, restaurant guide to the city. I booked the room online which I would suggest doing as it is so easy. The room was great with very soft towels. The hotel is near the bus... more
