Do not stay here! The rooms are very run down ... Not a little as noted in other reviews. The refrigerator in our room did not work and had a towel stuffed in it to soak up the water. The towels are literally the size of the average hand towel and the soap was half the size of cheap hotel... More

Pros: The rest room is clean. Cons: The moment I walked into the room, I smelled something weird odor. The carpet is dirty. The comforter is very old, looks like from 80s. The shampoo and conditioner are of low quality. After shower, my hair become less smooth than it used to be before shower. The wifi is useless.

We spent one night. The wifi was useless; the signals were weak and when connected the "speed" was molasses or slower. The room was adequate; not filthy, but there was a used coffee stirrer left on the floor next to the nightstand so you knew the cleaning wasn't thorough. We could hear our neighbors pretty clearly. The bath towels were... More

This is a very basic inn but worth every penny we paid for it. There were four of us in one room with 2 queen sized beds -- which may or may not have been quite the usual width of a queen. My husband and I sleep in kingsized beds so every else is small. There was a fridge, microwave... More

We stayed here for 2 months in a room with a kitchen. The staff is super-nice. My only complaint is that Wi Fi is a little slow. Other than that, everything was wonderful!!! Breakfast was yummy. Towels were fresh.

Clean with a full range of amenities including coffee maker, microwave, & fridge. There are no full restaurants nearby but a nice coffee shop in a really cool old gas station is right across the street.

The hotel was quite good, clean rooms, wide rooms with kitchinette. They changed towels every day. One of the bad things was the internet (wifi) connection it was not working in general. An the other thing... the same exactly the same for breakfast every day!!! everything else was ok. Recommendable and cheap

I made reservation 2 days before checking in. they showed me a room at the 1’Th floor, saying that the room at the second floor I asked for, will be the same. We arrived late by night feeling the terrible odor of the room. We took a shower realizing that the previous guest’s used soap is still there. Not to... More

We stay here for value and convenience and the Lamp Post offers both. Sure, it's not the Four Seasons but unless you plan to spend all day in your room and miss room service, how important is that? This last trip we realized that the little strip mall around the side of the Lamp Post is also a resource--Trader Joes... More

We spent a week at the Lamp Post Inn in November, and we had a lovely time. It is two miles from the University of Michigan, which is walking distance for me. It is a very pleasant walk through a mainly residential area. If you don't enjoy walking you can catch the bus. We will definitely stay there again.
