I found my stay at the Vitosha Guest Haus to be among the best of my inn experiences. My room was very large, clean, and comfortable with lots of beautiful furniture and decorations, a fireplace, bathtub, rocking chairs, and an excellent bed. The inn keeper was very nice and accommodating of my schedule and food allergies, the food was wonderful,... more

We have stayed in Ann Arbor hotels before and hoped to get closer to the U of M Campus and the legendary art fair. My husband's sister lives in Ann Arbor so it was nice to closer to her apartment than before and we have stayed in many B & Bs so we didn't expect hotel caliber service. We arrived... more

The B&B Nazi. This is the name (from Seinfeld's soup kitchen person) given to the owner of Vitosha and her employee, by another person when we stayed there for 3 nights and it caught on with some of the other guests. Initial rudeness upon arriving, failure to provide adequate lighting in the bathroom (the light in the shower out and... more

If your goal is something different than the cookie-cutter hotel room, Vitosha will fit the bill perfectly. Yes, one very large but very friendly dog resides there, as well as a few friendly cats, so if you have allergies/fears go elsewhere. The accommodations are exceptionally clean and perfectly charming. I felt as if I was in a quaint German village.... more

In the case of the Vitosha Guest Haus, our stay was outstanding in so many ways that the negative reviews I read were hardly credible. If the inn's website appeals to you, make the reservation. We did and were delighted by the ambiance, personal care, attention to detail, uniqueness and charm of the property and thoughtfulness of the proprietor. I... more

We booked a room at Vitosha, and then a week later, saw reviews that were quite alarming. We decided to go ahead, and we are very glad that we did stay at Vitosha. The rooms and service were amazing. Furnishings were authentic and understated from the thick quilts on the beds, working antique phone to the heated slate floors. We... more

I'd attended art receptions and modern dance performances at the Guest Haus, and what I was able to see of the property during those times left me impressed; the grounds and furnishings are lovely, and I always wanted to return there for a stay. No longer! About a month ago, my parents booked a room for my boyfriend and I,... more

My husband and I were recently married and were given a night at one of Vitosha's nicest rooms as a gift by our friends. When we arrived, we were told by a member of the staff that the room we had reserved was not available because the fireplace was broken so we accepted a different room, one with a bathtub.... more

I had hoped for a charming experience for my friends and family, but we were sadly disappointed. The owner made us feel like we were constantly intruding upon her space. We did not feel very welcome. The food was also very mediocre. The whole experience nearly ruined our entire weekend. We would never recommend the Vitosha Guest Haus to others,... more
