I traveled to Ann Arbor for an admitted students weekend, and decided to save a few bucks and stay in the Motel 6 on South State Street. That was easily one of the worst purchasing decisions I have ever made. As soon as I was dropped off my stomach sank. The grounds are gross and in a bad part of... more

Don't know were to start, so I will list a few things that REALLY dissappointed me. If it was not so late, I would have found another hotel. Items I discovered at some point throughout the night. Toilet wouldn't quit running until I fixed it. Draft from around the door could blow out a match. No tissues No shampoo No... more

Ugh. For 12 more bucks, go to the Microtel at the other end of town (Ann Arbor). This Motel 6 is a creepy place with next to no amenities... except for the free coffee, which isn't served until 7:00am. There wasn't even a box of tissue, let alone shampoo. Avoid this one. more

We had a great experience here. The appeared property has been recently renovated. All of the furnishings were new, and the beds were quite comfortable (the bedspreads even looked brand new )The only complaints I had were that there wasn't a clock radio and there wasn't any shampoo in the shower. Other than that, it was exactly what a Motel... more

This was the only hotel we could find for football weekend. Supposedly a non-smoking room - not! Our worst hotel experience in Ann Arbor, ever. No hot water; gross bed with bad springs; stiff bed covering; little, round toilet seat (no lid), no shampoo, (you get a small bar of soap); cheap thin small towels; no clock; no couch; no... more

My husband and I stayed at the Motel 6 for a night and was somewhat pleasantly surprised with our stay, given previous reviews. Granted, staying at a motel 6 is not a luxury experience, but the room was clean, the place was quiet, and in a good location right off I-94. The biggest detractor was that the hotel provided NO... more

The lobby was under major construction when we stayed there this weekend, and was basically unusable. You had to use the night entrance, and you were still stepping over broken tiles, etc. Plus, the driveway leading to the place was full of enormous potholes. The room, however, was perfectly fine. It was non-smoking, yet had an ashtray (turned upside-down with... more

Stayed here for one night while driving from Chicago to Detroit Airport for a flight. The service was fine, but the room was pretty gross. The shower didn't drain and things didn't seem especially clean. All night long cars were coming and going and the door to my neighbor's room kept opening and closing. Not a happy experience. more

Ditto to earlier reviewer: stay clear of this place. Scuzzy floors, foul bathroom--MOLD on a pillow, for crying out loud. These people pocket the money and let the place go to ruin. Go anywhere else. more

We were there on a football weekend and this was all we could get, so we sucked it up and took the room. The first room was so smoky that we requested another room (which wasn't much better) - this after the front desk girl swore to us the room was well deoderized and ventilated - HA. Next, we have... more
