If you need to stay in central Michigan, this is the nicest most peaceful place by a long shot. There are real wood burning fireplaces in many of the rooms. It's absolutely charming. Jerry will tell you the history of the house and your room -- always interesting. Breakfast is the same menu each day, but enough variety to accommodate.... More

Hey Jody and thanks for the fine review of Saravilla! Tell me more about the coffee--too strong, too weak, not a gourmet brand?...I consider myself somewhat a coffee snob too so very interested. Warm regards, Gerry More

We have only stayed at one B&B before and it was more like a motel. This was altogether different. Saravilla was built in 1894 by a SAGINAW lumber Barron. It has beautiful wood work and original wallpaper. Inn keepers were very pleasant, friendly and gave a tour when we first arrived. We stayed in the Garden Room. The accommodations were... More

Instead of venturing 20 minutes out of my way for a hotel, I chose the B &B in Alma for my business trip. Was not disappointed with the very charming home. Clean & comfortable room, good night's rest and the owners were very pleasant! I don't normally eat a large breakfast, but what I did partake in was very good.

great value- great rooms. we didn't have breakfast- just coffee and juice as we were going to brunch elsewhere. However, the owners asked several times if we needed breakfast- just to make sure. I would recommend this awesome place and will stay again. love the décor and how true to the period they are trying to stay. the history story... More

Overall, it was another wonderful way to see in the New Year with our friends. We have requested the same room as it provides space for our widowed friend to stay with us. Having a small kitchen for the foods we bring and a large ballroom with tables for day and evening use are a must. The inn-keeper is accommodating... More

Thank you for the nice review. I am chagrinned by the story of the Ballroom! We aim to keep Rockie in our private areas when guests are present and did not know he had slipped out and made a nuisance of himself. We look forward to seeing you next new year's eve. More

Great breakfasts, friendly innkeepers, wonderful property and convenient location added to cozy interiors made our recent trip to Saravilla most enjoyable! Our family occupied two rooms and they were both well appointed and comfortable!

This is a beautiful property. The owners, Roland and Gene, are very hospitable. They are extremely professional but at the same time, are so personable that you will feel right at home. The house has rooms with both private and shared baths, a pool table, library, hot tub, a luxurious porch and they served a delicious breakfast.

Every detail had been carefully considered. There were even toiletries available for travelers who forgot theirs as well as a first aid kit on the second floor. Breakfast was delicious. All very well done.
