Arrived in Sucre very early after a horrific overnight bus journey from La Paz! We were so glad that we'd booked into Villa Antigua as we received a lovely welcome and were allowed to check-in early without charge. Continental breakfast was very nice especially the fresh coffee. Rooms were clean with a modern feel. Beautiful courtyard and a real suntrap... More

We were there with an international group of 18 persons. Everybody liked the building, the garden , the total ambiance. The bedrooms are of good size and the beds very comfortable. The attention and service were very good and the people know their profession. The hotel is also very clean and for the cold days every room has a heater.... More

Nice place. Close enough to everything but very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are clean, ample and well appointed. Staff is very attentive and polite, but service (food, drinks, etc.) is basic or non-existent. Wifi a bit erratic, but that should be the last thing in your mind if you are enjoying the city. The best part is the rustic... More

This hotel, no matter from when it was established, feels very new. This is mostly positive as the grounds and rooms are spotless, very big, and in great shape. The bad is that many "new hotel" kinks still have to be worked out (undependable cleaning staff, unknowledgeable front desk staff, extremely rudimentary breakfast). Nevertheless, it is well located, has a... More

I only have good things to say about the Villa. It is ideally located in the historic center which is happily busy day and night. However, the moment you walk into the hotel, the noise and activity of the city are left behind. Reception and the central courtyard with lovely shades of rose, well tended plants and a bubbling fountain... More

We stayed at this place for 4 nights. Our room was large, clean and comfortable but for the price we paid (USD 60 per night) I expected a little more. For example, the amenity bottles were half used on our arrival, the mini bar half-stocked and most items were past their used by dates (including a 4 month off coke!),... More

The hotel is in a good neighborhood, close to interesting destinations and restaurants. It is not luxurious but clean and hospitable and the employees are very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is very friendly and breakfast is very satisfactory.

Reception seemed to panic at our arrival! But a room was ready quite quickly. Just as well as we needed to adapt to altitude. Room was adequate, a good view of the towels drying on garden chairs. Breakfast was very sparse. Staff reading book so everything had to be requested. Just one or two pieces of bread or ham or... More

Villa Antigua is in a central location in Sucre. The staff were all very pleasant and the room we had was big and clean with a very high ceiling. It was good value and the hotel has a small back garden. We did use the hotel to book us a taxi for the short journey to the airport and the... More

Dear Mr. Hugh, Thank you for your review and we are happy that you had a very pleasant time in Sucre and in the hotel. Also thank you for the comment about the taxi, we really need this feedback from the customers as we are not always aware of what other service providers do and then making us responsible. In... The Dutch have sort-of taken over the hospitality scene in Sucre and this hotel is one of their stable. A lovely old courtyard hotel around a peaceful central patio (which thankfully remains a garden and not a bar or cafe as in many such establishments). The rooms are huge and airy, the showers excellent. the beds comfortable, the reception staff... More
