We stayed at this hostal for 2 nights during our stay in potosi. It is well located - really close to the plaza 10 de noviembre and casa de la moneda! The rooms are clean and warm (this was in may - weather will become cooler and this could change) and their is hot water for your shower! It had... More

This hostal is in a great location. Very good hot showers and wifi connection. The patio area is a bit noisy/echos but that's also partly due to other travelers ignorance. Breakfast is a bit average however on the second morning I did get yoghurt/banana mix and a good coffee. Room is a little musty however perfectly acceptable for a few... More

This is by far the best hostel my friend and I have ever stayed at. What a breath of fresh air. The receptionist was so lovely and helpful and showed us where we could get some late night food. The rooms are very clean as is the bathroom. Highly recommend. And breakfast is great too!

Hostal Carlos V is an average ho(s)tel. but what you get it's way too expensive. someone was smoking in the room before us. breakfast is very bolivian basic with dry bread jam and butter. then add. tea or coffee. staff was helpful and wifi was working in the common area. at least it wasn't cold at night. you can getter... Highly recommended in the lonely planet, but what a deception for us ! For a price we thought was excessive (160B$), you get a tiny - yet very clean - double room with access to a common bathroom (only one tiny bathroom by floor). The bathroom itself was pretty dirty the whole time we stayed there. The problem was that... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are not great but not bad either (there are mostly shared bathrooms). However, they are all located on a central patio (closed on the roof) and can be thus very very noisy. You better have to be in a top floor. Furthermore, the staff is really unpleasant. I would not recommend to... More

Its clean and the staff are nice but nothing can redeem it when its minus 5 outside and no warmer in your room. Wifis pretty bad too. If it cold in Patosi when you arrive pay mor for somewhere with a heater, its really neccessary.

Not as good as reported by the Lonely Planet but decently priced and located. Smallish rooms and the patio can be noisy. Good enough for a couple of nights but nothing to call home about. Next time we go to Potosi, we'll look for other options.

Our room was smelly and old. It had molds in the walls. We were there in February and it was so cold inside the room! WiFi did not work very well. Breakfast was poor. It has a good location, however. But if I go back to Potosi, I will look for another option.

Very nice hostel. Feels more like a hotel. Had the best shower. The rooms are a bit cold but has lots of blankets. Terrible breakfast. Yesterdays bread with a bit of marmelade. Great location. Good value.
