We stayed in this hotel for one night, we could not get into the sheriton as it was full. This hotel was built in the 1930's and although very clean and friendly it was exceptionally tired. The staff were delightful and genuine with regard to your interest, however the facilities and the comfort of the hotel was a little scarce.... more

Once a great hotel, it is now way past it's time. There's so much history here, but it's badly in need of renovation. It's in sad shape. Most rooms have too much street noise and there's an old, musty smell. Kinda like staying in an old museum. We stayed just one night and then switched hotels. more

the o higgins was probably great 30 years ago, we stayed there for two nights in late march 05 , moved rooms twice , on the street side Paza Vergara its very noisy at night from the buses and people shouting. We stayed in this hotel in late 2004 and were not impressed. The Hotel rooms are extremely noisy, they are not airconditioned as indicated on various websites, there is only 1 dial up internet connect for the entire hotel, and all the facilities have been rundown.
