We stayed for a night during a stopover on the way to Turkey from Australia. We wanted something a little different to the usual "bling" of Dubai and this place did not disappoint. The guest house is part of an old residential area in Bur Dubai (the old town). It is reminiscent of a caravanserai style accommodation. Dubai creek is... More

If you want to stay some unique place - this is the place. Located in the old Dubai house, rooms having quite interesting decoration (high rooms, small windows-- like a prison style). The staff was quite tight-lipped - no-smile, but one person was very nice and was able to help us when we had some questions. Price was ok compared... More

Our room was nice but had no window, and we had to wait 10 minutes at breakfast before any of the few tables was free. The breakfast selection was average. Beautiful building. Close enough to metro and several attractions.

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was great, really refreshing after the bling of downtown and Marina areas of Dubai! we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful, in fact I remarked on how nice the dates were at breakie and the next day she had bought me in a box of the same make as I... Good location to discover the old dubai but, the staff is quite slow and not caring + they suggested to swap my booking with a different location when I arrived (I had chosen the hotel pickup upon booking), I had to insist to stay there

This was a welcome change from the usual Dubai high-rise; a low (one-storey) building in traditional style with a small number of guests, an attractive interior courtyard, an outside terrace on top and a location close to the souk. We were on the upper storey and the room was nicely furnished and clean as was the bathroom. We arrived early... More

We love staying in the old city and this guest house was a grand merchant's house which has been converted into rooms. Based around a courtyard where breakfast is served the rooms have character yet still have the modern conveniences such as free wifi, TV, en-suite etc. This is one of other guest houses in the same chain as the... If you are looking for a more authentic place to stay in Bur Dubai this is it. No breakfast buffet or fancy reception but real personal attention from the friendly staff. Good fresh breakfast, clean rooms although they are a bit outdated. But on the other side that contributes to the charms of this hotel. Nearly every room is adjacent... More

Dubai for me is rather over he top, so it was nice to find something a little bit more to my taste. Just ten rooms simply furnished set around a courtyard. The guest house is in a traffic free area so is quiet. Very comfy bed, hot shower and good quality goodies in bathroom. Air con rather noisy but that... More

Staying in The Creek

Neighborhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
