Location is great, so are some of the staff. Mind you far from all. The few good ones really tries to make a difference. The rest of this hotel is just a big joke. Stayed many times at York over the past years, office is just around the corner. Have seen the extreme drop in quality, both in the standard... More

Stayed here once on business, during Jan 2011. Service is alright(they staff were very helpful), Rooms are clean & the breakfast is alright. But i have found other hotels in Dxb that offer better value for my money. Was bored in the evening & checked out one of their clubs, they have an international one & an indian club. Was... More

It's a nice hotel with friendly staff, but you can stay at a better hotel with their room price.

This was my first official stop over in dubai, I had been many times before but to the closer airport hotels and not into Bur Dubai itself. The hotel itself is very well priced and is in a great location. I was very surprised as to the nightlife there within the hotel, there is a nice nightclub and the service... More

Booked this hotel for a few days Location = Excellent! Khaleed Bin waleed Metro station is very close by and you can get around dubai using the metro, this hotel is on a main busy road full of hustle and bustle! Whilst the Outside of the hotel looks good something you would expect of a 4 star hotel inside was... More

This hotel was beyond awful. I can say, quite literally, that we were the only women who were not making money in the entire hotel. The place was famous amongst the locals for being "downmarket" and full of hookers. When people wince when you tell them where you are staying, you know its bad! We turned up at 8am from... More

Was visiting Dubia for a meeting with suppliers and my office booked a hotel near to the supplier and all was well with the world. As you walk in the bar on the right was full of old ugly pros desperate for attention. As I checked in I was told no guests in the room...Not that I had any intention... More

OK, location is good, sort of in the middle. Stayed there quite a few times as close to the office. Location is about the only true positive thing with York. Noicy at night. What ever you do never take a room below level 5. Lobby looks more then from Sodom and Gomorra then from a 3 star hotel after 21.00... More

Staying in The Creek

Neighborhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
