We were recommended this Hotel by a friend and were not disappointed. Its in a great location , close to the rail and the creek to the gold souks and markets. We had a room overlooking the Dubai Museum . Its situated in the old Dubai and had more character . The room clean and large and bed comfotable. The... More

This is the 2nd time I've stayed. I came back because of the excellent location and service previously. The backbone is still here, good size rooms, air con that works, available upgrades, good breakfast and free wifi. In the last year it does not appear that any maintain economic has been done, the lift buttons are faded and tags showing... More

We've just arrived back after 5 nights at the arabian courtyard. This hotel is situated right opposite the museum in the old town. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We arrived early morning after an overnight flight and check in wasn't until 2pm. We had 3 rooms booked and they kindly gave us one room as soon as... More

This hotel was chosen by a travel agent for us as part of a cruise package. It is in the older part of the city and right by the Dubai Museum. The Dubai Big Bus hop on/off tour bus stops just across the road from the hotel. A 48 hour ticket is excellent value for money and is a great... More

We spent just 3 nights in this hotel before going on to Mauritius. The hotel is older than most in Dubai with an authentic local decor that harks back to times long gone and is a perfect counter to the manic pace of life outside where everything is higher, bigger, wider faster etc than anywhere else and also more expensive... Older style hotel and has a little faded opulence, but the warmth of the staff, homely feel and eagerness to please make this a lovely place to have a stopover. Close to everything in the old city. And only a short taxi ride from everything else. Free tea coffee and soft drinks in the lounge, plus a wide variety of... More

The Bottom Line: This is a good hotel and value for money. Its location is excellent It is on the Bur Dubai side of the Abra crossing so its close enough to the Dheira gold souk etc but not completely in the hustle and the bustle. The area around the hotel has some good eateries and a 24 hour supermarket... More

Staying in The Creek

Neighborhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
