I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is situated in the interior of Deira and there is problem of traffic congestion. The surroundings are also not very impressive. Everything is very basic. The breakfast buffet was hopeless. They keep on repeating the same boring dishes every morning. Mostly low budget travellers from developing countries stay here. The ambiance... More

First the Bad you need to know the name of the hotel and location street name and number Taxi drivers will never find or know where to find the place other wise and its next to the blue mosque Rooms basic matters very hard. Good staff friendly helpful and the owner said he has only had the place 6 months... More

It was my first trip to Dubai. Al Sham is one of those inconsequential, average location, average staff, average service but above average priced. Need I say more. This is the kind of hotel that makes it money by providing UAE visas. Just the kind of arm twisting that goes on in that part of the world. But apart from... More

Okay so I thought I'd post something to add to the terrible reviews. We booked this hotel because it was cheap, very very cheapfor Dubai like $60 a night double. We were travelling for a year so cost was the factor when selecting a hotel. This was the cheapest hotel we could find booking ahead. Of course the cheapest hotel... More

... there is just one that is really bad. And this is the one. Dirty, dump, really very poor conditions. Bathrooms are a horror. The people working at the hotel are really nice but still, it cannot compensate the conditions in any way. The same with restaurant - seems like a poor canteen with very poor food served for breakfast.... More

The Al Sham is a poor excuse for a hotel. I have no idea where they gain the 2 star rating that they currently have. My husband and I were unfortunate enough to be recommended this hotel through our travel agent. We were meant to stay for 4 nights, however after 2 sleepless nights due to the security or lack... This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent as a good stopover hotel to spend a couple of nights in Dubai while en route from Australia to the UK. Outwardly it didn't look particularly modern but inside there was a small reception area with a lounge and to one side the dining room. Our room was at the... More

We arrived at the reception and everything looked pretty clean and tidy. The lift was somewhat small but we were escorted to our room which was a disaster area. The wardrobe leaned to one side and was almost falling apart, the seating was plastic patio chairs and the bed was as soft as a plank! The carpets were filthy and... More
