An authentic hotel in the middle of the old city. It's very near to the Aleppo Castle and also very near to the bazaar. more
We had had one night in another hotel in Aleppo but they couldn't accommodate us a second night so we ended up in Dar Halabia. And it was very difficult to leave again. We were made to feel so at home! The breakfasts are wonderful with a great selection. During our trip of three and a half weeks in Syria... more
It is strange to read all those negative reviews about Dar Halabia, since we had a good experience with this hotel and its staff. Maybe this is because we booked everything in advance and did not have to deal with paying and booking anymore? In fact, Dar Halabia was one of the nicest Syrian hotels we stayed in. It is... more
I was not at all surprised to read the latest review on this hotel. We had the same experience but with an added nasty twist. I telephoned Dar Halabia and was told they were fully booked but had a room in their sister hotel, Dar Al-Kanadil, and was quoted 3,500 SYP per night. When paying our account, the manager demanded... more
The hotel is definately charming - its an old Aleppian House. They also have a sister hotel which I believe is similar. The problem is, the management are scum bags and will try try to cheat you if you aren't careful. The price is 39 euro per night. We stayed 2 nights = 78 euros. When we asked to pay... more
This hotel is running a nasty little scam that we (and some other travellers we meet while in Syria) got caught in. We booked a room at Dar Halabia, but when we arrived they said they were full, but they had a room for us in a nearby hotel they also owned, Dar Kanadil. We confirmed at both hotels the... more
The hotel is wonderful, and the staff more than helpful and friendly. Location is the best if you are going to walk around the old city of Aleppo. It is right in the middle of the Old Souk, and on your way to the Citadel. The rooms are exquisite in their furniture and decor and very clean, we had no... more
Dar Halabia is by far the cutest and the most surprising hotel where we've stayed in Syria. You'll be amazed about the atmosphere. It is located in a nice old building with stairs leading to terraces and patio's. The staff is very helpfull (even when you need a tool to open your coconut) and you can have a lot of... more
This is easily the best hotel we stayed in in Syria... clean, modern, efficient, with a very caring and pleasant staff. It actually more than just a hotel with a room... it's the complete package: a beautifully renovated room with amazing tiles and modern conveniences, old carpets, plenty of space... if you're wondering whether or not to even go to... more
I am just back home after a great trip in Syria and wanted to thank the people who have been a great part to the enjoyment of that trip. And the hotel Dar Halabia has been wonderful for me. I am so pleased I chose to stay there for three nights. The staff was very friendly, understandable and above all... more
