We booked this hotel over Booking.com and when we arrived the receptionist said that they are full and that we were 'upgrated' to a better hotel with bigger room. The hotel where we were 'upgrated' to was their 'sister' hotel. No balcony, no view on Mekong, but with the view into the hotel next door. They are doing this scum... More

Stayed here four nights, room and bathroom are cramped and the balcony tiny but all told it was great to sit on the balcony with coffee/ tea made downstairs viewing the passing street life and Mekong River. Breakfast is served across the street alongside the river. Great location on the peninsula making everything - temples, night market, markets, restaurants, bars,... More

We stayed at muong lao riverside 4 days in total. First we stayed 2 nights in a room on the backfront and the other 2 nights in a bit nicer room with riverview and a tiny balcony. The rooms were nice and clean, side walls were painted white, so it didn't look so dark. But what made our stay just... More

This guesthouse is a jewel and added to our pleasant time in Luang Prabang. Being located next to the Mekong River offers a buffer from the rest of the world and a beautiful setting for a tasty breakfast. Our host, Yeng greeted us always with a big smile and charming wit. The rooms are appointed well, clean and quiet enough... More

We were initially booked to stay three or four nights but ended up staying for six as we got food poisoning. The staff there, particularly the young man were amazing. My boyfriend wasn't struck down until after me and the staff offered to take us to the hospital, get a doctor or basically anything they could do to help. I... More

Nice guesthouse along the river with easy 5 to 10 min walk to main street and main sites in town. Steep stairs to climb to get to the second floor but staff will help carry your bag. Shoes off at the entrance keeps the place clean. Free wifi, air conditioning and a fan. Windows have shutters and screens. A couple... More

There were a lot of things we liked about MuongLao riverside: the cute balcony over-looking the street and the river, it's cozy wooden decor and the lovely breakfast tables next to the river. The staff were very friendly, and spoke great English. The main downsides were that the room was very small, and the cute wooden walls are not soundproof... More

We spent 2 nights here following a 2 day slow boat cruise from Huay Xai and cannot rate the customer service highly enough. All of the staff were extremley helpful and really friendly and had great english. The location of the hotel is great, right by the river, and just a short walk to loads of nice restaurants, wine bars... More

Pros: Perfect location on the riverfront. Seating area by the river. Large room upstairs. Very clean and modern, with character. Cons: Room downstairs was dark, smelly and bathroom was very small. We asked to be moved. The girl at the desk said we couldn't, but when we asked another member of staff the next morning he moved us straight away.... More

I am so keen for people to enjoy the experience of Luang Prebang that this is nowmy third attempt at submitting this review. This hotel is right on the Mekhong, front rooms have small balconies looking on to the river. This is a good place tp stay for anybody visiting this tranquil town. A cupboard in the room would have... More
