I stayed at Lotus Villa with 3 friends and we all thought it was a lovely place to stay. The alms ceremony right at your door is a bonus. We participated one morning and watched from our balcony another morning.Evelyn, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. The villa supports an orphanage so we took school supplies, soccer boots and toys which... More

We stayed at the Lotus Villa for three nights in March 2014. We previously stayed at Lotus Villa 5 years ago and the staff and location completely charmed us and it has lost none of this in the 5 year gap. This visit we stayed in a suite which was very spacious and comfortable. If your budget allows for the... More

Dear Norman 540, Thank you for writing! And glad to hear you found us to have maintained our value. And thank you for coming back after 5 years! We're pleased to say that we have - thanks to a new internet service that has just opened here in Luang Prabang - upgraded our wifi service. Mind you, in a developing... More

I was not overly thrilled with this Hotel, but not bitterly disappointed either. On the plus side, it is a great location and the rooms were clean. On the not so great side, the room I stayed in was a very strange design, that could have come close to being claustrophobic. The food was not particularly tasty and very pricy. There... More

Dear 'gabby b', I must confess, this review has me puzzled. You say "food was not particularly tasty and very pricy." But - we don't offer restaurant services. We provide a fresh cooked breakfast which is included in the room rate. (And which has received praise from reviewers.) But breakfast is free of charge. And we do not serve lunch... More

We stayed at Lotus Villa for four nights in March of 2014. The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and beautiful doors leading onto the interior garden. The breakfast was very good and the coffee amazing. But the best part of Lotus Villa was the staff. Incredibly helpful and charming. The manager ( a woman from Halifax) had... More

Hello Chris F! Many thanks for your positive comments, and for taking the time to post them. It's much appreciated. We're particularly glad to hear you found the bed comfortable, as getting a comfortable bed anywhere in SEAsia can be a challenge (as I know all too well myself...) As for the garden courtyard, we are quite proud of this... More

Luang Prabang has many nice hotels and guesthouses to choose from, but you really cannot miss with this one. It is located a short distance away from the sights of the city and its best restaurants. It is well-managed, and the staff are courteous and helpful. The upstairs rooms look out over the morning parade of monks, but the rooms... More

Greetings "Leighsscreenname", Saying that when you come to Luang Prabang "you really cannot miss [Lotus Villa]" is a truly wonderful compliment. Thank you! You've covered some very useful points for Trip Advisor readers - location, staff and the room you stayed in. In particular, the Lotus rooms (the room type that looks out over where the monks pass by every... More

As others have noted, Lotus Villa enjoys an excellent location. We were three women traveling together, so we had a single room and a double room. Both were spotlessly clean, with comfy beds and pillows (this is a rarity in SE Asia..). There is a tip box at the front desk, and tips are shared by all the staff-this typifies the... More

You would be hard pressed to find a more central location that this hotel. Close to temples, the main dining street and one up from the river. The only downside was a few guests smoking in the breakfast area, despite being outdoors it was not pleasant.

The location of the hotel is excellent: within a short distance of the Mekong River, with its many waterfront restaurants, and a few blocks from the Nam Khan River, which is more peaceful. Our large room was comfortable, and although it was facing the street it was very quiet. The staff alerted us to the monks that pass by every... More

A great location on a quite road between the Nam Khan & Mekong rivers in the Heritage area. We spent 5 nights here and enjoyed every moment, our very large room, on the ground floor, opened directly onto the lovely garden where an excellent breakfast was served. The buildings are culturally significant and showcase the beauty of the ancient Lao... More

Dear 'Bricodust', Thank you for taking the time to write! For those readers who might be wondering, the large ground floor rooms that open out into the garden are our Waterlily rooms, and are a departure from the "usual" hotel room design, with terra cotta floors and - a truly unique touch - a lovely in-room bathtub in a wood-casing....
