It was the second time I stayed at that guesthouse and even though a lot has changed to Luang Prabang over the past 4 years (where do all the cars and motocycles come from?), not a lot has changed there. The crew is still very young and soooo amazingly friendly - you just feel like you are staying with your... More

We arrived at the guesthouse (actually hoping to stay at one down the alley next door but they were full) and we were shown the rooms which were clean, tidy and very well presented. We originally planned to only stay the one night and find somewhere else but it was so nice and such good value for money that we... More

The location of the guest house itselft isn't that bad but I didn't like the staff's attitude. We were staying there for the time of Sonkran festival which means that many rooms in the town were occupied already. We decided to check on several guest houses if they have vacancy for the most busiest dates. When we came to Muonglao... More

The rooms very basic with a step-up bathroom. Beds uncomfortable with springs sticking out. Wooden floor board moves and disturbs anyone sleeping. Endless cricket and vehicle noises. Difficult to get peaceful sleep. Ants in bread served during breakfast. Guesthouse staff were okay. Got this guesthouse as part of 8 days 7 night package from their travel agency heritagexplorer Be WARY... More

My fiancee and I stayed at the Muonglao Guesthouse at the end of July 2010. We payed $16 a night for an AC room, although it appears as though the rates are flexible depending on how many rooms are vacant and whether you ask for a deal. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially Thavone, the... More

This place was the standout accommodation of our 3 week trip across 4 countries! We were met as promised at the airport by Kurt who took us the short distance to the guesthouse. We were really pleased with the rooms and the guesthouse as a whole. I'd pre-booked online which was a very straight forward process directly with the guesthouse... More

My husband spent 6 weeks travelling in SE Asia including three days in Luang Prabang. I booked Muonglao on the basis of some good reviews on Trip Advisor. Of all the places that I pre-booked in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam it was the only one that insisted on payment in advance. When we arrived we found the guesthouse didn't... More

We stayed for 3 nights and paid $28 for a double room with balcony and breakfast. We arranged pick up from the bus station and we were charged a different price to what was quoted in their email. The room was dark and had a shared balcony which can get very noisy at night. We had A/C, TV and fridge.Sometimes there... More

Very basic guesthouse which we booked in advance based on reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed at a double room on the first floor - very exposed to whoever was doing whatever on the backyard (cooking, laundry, ect.). The room had a tiny shower + toilet; as hard as we tried, we could not keep the toilet dry while showering. The... More

As I have never stayed in a guesthouse during my other travels, my travelling companion suggested that we try out this place and I was very happy that I did. We had prior online booking and as our flight was delayed, we were late in reaching the guesthouse but on hand to receive us was Kurt who greeted and helped... More
