Wife and I stayed for 3 nights. It was an absolute joy waking up to breakfast with the view of the Nam Khan river (worth the extra 5 USD per night for the river view, you do have to pay for breakfast which is around 2 USD pp). It is a 20-25 minute walk to the town center but it... More

This hotel is everything they claim. Having stayed here a few nights gave me an excuse to explore some streets that I wouldn’t have had had I not stayed here. The grounds are a well maintained garden. The balcony with the river below is a perfect setting for sipping a beer on an axe pillow. The rooms and bathroom were... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a spacious bungalow overlooking the river. Breakfast was served every morning on our own terrace. The setting is beautiful with lush, tropical gardens and rustic wooden bungalows scattered throughout. The location is a 5 minute tuk tuk out of town but the guesthouse provides 6 free transfers a day. However, it is the service... More

We had a reservation here for 5 nights. We had a Riverview bungalow. It was a fairly large room with an outside balcony facing the river. It is very peaceful and the price is great, but we checked out after two nights to go stay in town. Here are the issues: 1. This place is way too far from town.... More

We stayed at this wonderful guest house for a week and it is one of our favourite places ever. It was relaxing from the moment we arrived and the staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. The gardens, the bungalows themselves and the view make it feel as if you are miles away from the town which in fact is... More

Yes Thongbay is a bit out of town. And yes it is a bit rustic. We stayed two days at a B&B in town and 3 nights out of town at Thongbay. And this was one of my favourite parts of the trip. Each morning you woke to breakfast on your deck, looking out over the river - fishermen working... More

A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting by the river, rooms are clean and authentic but basic. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but the distance from town was a bit of a downfall. However, the hotel offers free shuttles in the morning and evening. I would recommend this to anyone who would like the contrast from town and... More

Overall this place is really nice, great staff, the food for price is really solid, clean rooms and a nice garden/view. As people have said the location gives mixed feelings - its out of town a little and not really walkable in midday heat and requires you to get the shutter with the guesthouse in for a 30k kip tuk... If you want a lovely little place away from the from the hustle and bustle of "downtown" Luang Prabang, this is the place for you. The accommodation, gardens, and service were all wonderful. The reason for giving a 4/5 is because of location. Almost everything we wanted to do was downtown, so we were constantly traveling back and forth. The... More

This hotel/bungalows are set in a beautiful setting with gardens overlooking the river. The bungalows overlooking the river have views over the river and farms where you can watch the locals go about their day. The staff here are amazing, so kind and helpful and smiley! Some of the happiest people we saw in Laos. Luang Prabang is quite a... More
