I really liked this hotel and found it to be excellent value for money. The bed was very soft and comfortable, a rarity in Southeast Asia! The hotel also had a ton of character and a great location. Good bar too! I would definitely stay here again.

The Apsara is a lovely boutique hotel, that is well worth considering. The standard downstairs rooms (about $US90) include the three in a separate building from the restaurant and reception (11, 12, 14) . Room 11 is on the corner and has a window Room 12 has no window except the front opening glass doors, and Room 14 has a... More

When in Luang Prabang last January I wanderedpast this place and thought next time I am in this great town,I will stay here. Good decision! Fabulous comfortable bed and pillows, great staff and service. The chicken noodle soup for breakfast was outstanding and the general ambiance restful. I didnt find it noisy at all but loved my stay here, why not... More

We spent 4 nights altogether at The Apsara in a triple room on the ground floor. The room was spacious (the bathroom had a large tub with lots of hot water) and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable (so much appreciated after numerous typically hard Asian beds) and we enjoyed sitting out on the veranda in the chairs just outside... More

Apsara is nicely located right on the Nam Khan within walking distance of pretty much everything you would want. As others have remarked, it is pretty old, and while this has a certain charm, it also means that it can be potentially noisy if you are downstairs, as the floors are all pretty creaky. No need to worry much about... More

nice hotel with great location facing the Nam Khan river. Many rooms have balconies or front porches for sitting. To be on the street level with a porch make sure to ask. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Food was consistently good with nice variety of Laos and some western choices. Rooms were large, clean and and comfortable -... More

The Apsara is located along the river on the Peninsula near the Wats and lovely shops. Ivan, the owner, is a gracious host, who greets new guests. His employees are very warm and attentive. Good restaurant, comfy bed, free bikes and airport transfer.

We spent Christmas last year in the sister Rive Droite hotel on the opposite bank of the river, but decided this year we wanted to be nearer the main part of town, so chose the Apsara. It is much more basic than the Rive Droite, but also a lot cheaper. Much of the appeal for us from the previous year... More

Maybe our expectations are high because of the other hotels we are staying in on this trip, but the rooms are ok, there is free wifi and the breakfasts are average. The staff are friendly but not particularly accommodating if you have special requirements. We stayed 3 nights not at peak season and found it somewhat noisy.

We stayed here for 5 nights so we got to see the good and bad of this hotel. Firstly we really appreciated getting met at the airport at night. We didn't arrange it and there were no taxis available. The good was the location ( overlooking the Nam Khan river and short walk to temples and centre of town, bars,... More
