The hotel is small but has lots of character, a great staff, and is ideally located on a quiet street along the Nam Khan river. We stayed in a second-floor room which was relatively spacious. Breakfast is included with juice and coffee, a fruit plate, a bread basket, and a choice of main dishes. The location of the hotel is... More

We stayed at the Apsara one night (in room 9) and then went to Nong Khiaw for a few days and returned to the Apsara (in room 8) for two additional nights. The second room we had was just fine, with light from the veranda out front and two windows on the outer wall; the room was spacious, the bathroom... More

This hotel is perfect for the World Heritage community of Luang Prabang. It has lots of character, a great staff, and is ideally located on a quiet street along the Nam Khan river. We stayed in a second-floor room; it was spacious and nicely decorated with a shower and separate soaking tub. Breakfast is included. It was limited but tasty,... More

After a few nights across the river at the Apsara River Droite, we moved into town to stay here at the original Apsara. As was the case at River Droite, the service was pretty well faultless, the room, clean and spacious and the verandah provided a great spot to relax and watch the constant stream of people passing by. The... More

Great location, FANTASTIC food and lovely room. Handy for everywhere in Luang Prabang but the best thing about it is the staff - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and very helpful. They couldn't have done more to help me enjoy my stay in their city. All of them spoke good English. I am so glad I stayed here, and would thoroughly recommend... More

We spent 6 nights here and loved the location, the size of the room and the view from the small balcony of the street and the river. The breakfast was quite good and the staff helpful and friendly. We took advantage of the complimentary bikes several times. Only negative was that it was a bit expensive.

The Apsara is a wonderfully atmospheric place. It has an effortless elegance and offers understated luxury without actually being pricey... Truly rare in today's brash and ostentatious world. It also has the perfect location, right next to the Tamarind, absolutely my favorite restaurant in Luang Prabang. Even though I had a minor run-in with the flimsy wooden screen next to... More

We have just returned from L P. The Apsara was perfect. We were met at the airport. The welcome was excellent. Our rooms were spacious and looked out over the river. We ate outside by the river. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They arranged a car to the waterfalls and a lovely sunset cruise down the Mekong.There... More

Every year seems to bring me back here, mind you, i,m not alone, there seem to be a lot of people who've been before. I think it's because it looks great without being poncy, the food is amazing and it attracts interesting fellow guests. Its everything you want a hotel to be and so few are.

The food is definitely "fusion" and not necessarily typical Laos dishes, but after a week of eating at the markets and having plenty of traditional dishes, we were ready for a change. There were plenty of interesting option on the menu, I can recommend the carrot, lemongrass & ginger soup, and the papaya salad with duck, both were excellent. The... More
