We were a bit worried about the 'pushy' owner but he was not that at all so unsure about the other bad reviews. Yes he asked us if we wanted to book anything but that's his job, he was always nice and friendly and said hello. Room was nice, quiet and hot shower for only £8 a night. Good location... More

The room was average, pretty clean and big enough for three people. No cleaning service and ants everywhere. The biggest problem was the owner of the hotel. He just wanted to get money out of customers. The owner asked 50000kip(6$) for using phone for 10mins!!!!!!! He didn't even tell us we had to pay before using the phone. It was... More

The place is clean, location very convenient as it is near city center. Mount Phousi, Nam Khan river side, Utopia, wats, TAEC, night market are all nearby. We discovered there's a bunch of home guest houses in the lane behind, so you might want to check out those. The owner and night assistant always try to ask us where we... More

Bed and room were clean. Very musty smell...mold is somewhere. Biggest problem was the owner...very pushy on selling tours and trips using his minivan. Also tried to charge double for laundry by weighing it wet. You have to give your key to the owner while you are out. He checks in immediately to turn off fan even if you need... More

The guesthouse itself is great: nice room, AC, tv, bathroom, ventilator, clean, awesome location, kind staff, it looked like a great deal really. However the owners like money, in fact they like it so much that they relentlessly push their guests (us and others) to buy their excursions, to take their van, daily inquiring about our plans and explaining their... We had room number 7 which was large and clean with comfortable bed but we realised surprisingly during the night that the windows don't have glass! The night was not that cold so it wasn't such a problem but the next day we were quite troubled until midnight by a lot of noise and music coming from the bars around... More

We stayed one night and were pleased with the rooms, good location and the fact that we could book our next transport to Vang Vieng from here. The guesthouse is opposite Wat Visoun which is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang. It is easy to walk to the centre, the Mekong and all the nice places for lounging and drinks... More

I stayed here for one night two years prior, however had little intention of returning to this guesthouse again (although I was happy with it last time). We stayed two disastrous nights at two separate guesthouses next door to utopia bar and we walked past asked if they had rooms decided to stay. We pay 80k for a night in... More

We made the mistake of booking 5 nights for Villa Aphay on agoda. Don't do it! Our experience went from okay to bad to worse. When we first arrived it seemed okay, the young front desk guy and the male owner are very nice. We were happy to find the location is close to cool restaurants and bars like Hive... More
