We found it difficult to find good accommodation in Luang Prabang until we came across this gem. The staff were brilliant and so friendly. Always offering us bananas, water, tea and coffee free of charge. The rooms were simple but did the job for the fair price especially as breakfast was included. The breakfast was a choice of omelet or... More

We stayed four nights at the Merry Lao and enjoyed it thoroughly. The room was quite acceptable, with a comfortable bed, spacious full bathroom, and even a window overlooking the town. The staff, though, are what makes the place special- they provided absolutely top-notch service from the moment we arrived and really made us feel at home. Our only complaint... More

In terms of staff and cleanliness this place deserves 5/5, but 4/5 does justice since, of course, being more on the budget side it doesn't offer the luxuries of a 5/5. Having stayed at many hostels and guesthouses in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, it was great to find somewhere that genuinely did what it said on the tin. Simple double... More

My partner and I enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was excellent! You get free water or tea/coffee all day. Our only complaint was that we saw a cockroach in our room!!

My husband and I booked this guest house through booking.com, we left booking the accommodation until 2 days before we left so there wasn't many options left online as this is a busy time of the year. You could easily turn up and find accommodation if you avoid the main street and go down the little lanes, there are plenty... More

Great little hotel with an incredibly nice and welcoming owner. I traveled with 3 other people and we all shared a room with 2 queen sized beds and one bathroom which provided more than enough space for us and all of our bags. The rooms and hotel in general feel like you are living in someones actual house and guest... More

This is a nice hotel situated opposite Phusei hill and amongst several local bars/restaurants which makes it great to experience the night life here and within easy distance to walk around and meander the Old Town. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable at any time of night or day as we did wander in... More

Music across the street was loud in our room until 11:30 pm. Owner lied to us about fair prices for tuktuks, and tried to convince us to buy our slow boat tickets from a travel agency, for a $30 markup, when we ended up buying them at the pier very easily. Bathroom was incredibly hot.
