I stayed in this guesthouse on my first and last nights in Luang Prabang while on a GVI volunteering holiday. It is a family run business, with friendly staff, rooms are clean and well cared for. Many rooms have views of the Nam Khan. It is about 15 minutes walk to the Main Street and night market but there are... More

The family that owns this nice guesthouse is just adorable. The room was quiet, the beds were comfy and the room was spotless. There was a good sized balcony, aircon and fan for reasonable price. We ended up staying two weeks... It's a really cozy place. Also they are the queens of laundry: so quick and clean.

Pros: Clean, very friendly staff, nice breakfast (get the iced coffee) and laundry service Cons: None that I can think of! Tips: It's on a quiet lane that isn't very well lit but I didn't feel unsafe at any point (just watch out for stray dogs)

Very nice place indeed. High 2 star. Family run and very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are a good size and clean and tidy. Important if you have ocd lol. Saved a bit on the money as we went with a fan instead of freezing at night with air con and was fine, in may. Would recommend. This place was recommend... More

After checking the whole LP by motorbike, as well as prices and places that people rent, this was like a heaven. 90000 per night for 4 nights for a double room with river view and balcony was more than a great deal for January. It is very near the center, clean, neat and cozy.

Cold River is an excellent place to stay in the 'godforsaken' LPB. We booked through Agoda and paid around £11 per night for a double room. One thing to remember is that it's not where it says it is on Google or Ulmon maps (it took a good hour to find it!). It's just off the main road and down... More

The ladies running this place are really lovely and welcoming! The location is about 5 minutes walk from the main centre bit. The room was great, as we are backpackers, this felt like a bit of luxury - we had our towels changed, room cleaned, tv in the room etc.. The shower is hot and great breakfast. In all really... We stayed quite a few days and thought it was quite nice. Don't forget your shoes there though as you leave them out front before walking in. (PS - anyone going from there to Vang Vieng or Vientiane the next few days maybe you can email me and bring my shoes! ;) hallonicole@yahoo.ca

The room I received was average. I could have a good nights sleep but the bathroom was atrocious. Had cold baths during winter. Winter in Luang Prabang can be rather harsh considering its location. However you do meet some amazing guests with amazing stories here. The memories with the guests will not be forgotten.
