A traditional Thai style building with thin walls, small rooms, and poor decor. This is very basic accommodation. From other locals I heard that the hotel is leased by a Franco-Thai couple for five years. They carried out a minor renovation a few years ago, but with a short lease did not invest extensively. To be honest, that is less... More

All round excellent place to stay. The buildings are very characterful but well appointed and very tastefully decorated. Everything is clean and functional with nice hot water in the shower, wifi, minibar, air con. There are shutters on the windows which is both a nice touch of character and also very effective for blocking sound and light from outside. Staff... More

Spent 2 nights in the traditional wooden house. Excellent service & value for money. Nice, clean and real care for clients. Perfect place to walk around the city...every place of interest is at walking distance. Don't miss a drink (and cheese platter) chez Matt, 20 meters from Saynamkhan and fine diner @ L'Elephant (simply the best in Luang Prabang).

The main advatage of this hotel is that it is near to almost every sights in Luang Prabang. - 5 minute walk to Wat Xieng Thong, Royal Museum & Mount Phusi - a minute walk to Sisavangvong Street where you can witness monk's early morning alm ceremony. The room is okay. The staff friendly. A restaurant is located on the... More

I booked a standard room, which didn't come with a view or balcony. Yes it was standard. Very small room, tiny shower and the whole room looked tired & in need of a makeover. It did have a new TV & air con, but everything else was below average for this price range. The bed was rock hard. I found... More

We stayed in standard room at Saynamkahn Hotel for 3 nights with breakfast included. Pro: Clean room and quiet location. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was tasty. Con: Room was a little small. Small bugs may enter room at night as there are no flyscreen. Tour price is more expensive than external tour agencies. Overall, it was an ok stay.

This is the 2nd time that we are here because it is very well placed in the historic center of Luang Prabang and ideal for touring around! We had a room in the main building with a lovely little terrace overlooking the river and the view is beautiful. A very clean, with all the comforts (air conditioning, flat screen TV,... More

The owners of Saynamkhan Hotel have done a great job running this small hotel on the Khan River in historic Luang Prabang. You will often see them at the front desk or overseeing breakfast to make sure of the quality and hospitality provided. They are happy to give recommendations for dining and activities. The rooms are in 2 buildings, a... More

2 days ago a tropical storm flooded some parts of Luang Prabang. Everything became more complicated. The management and staff of the hotel were very helpful. Plus a great view over the red waters of the Khan river.
