I think it's Lonely Planet that says your pulse drops instantly when you get to Luang Prabang. Well, not quite but it plummeted to delirious levels when I arrived at Villa Maly. It's a peaceful oasis of old indochine charm. Nice rooms (although my bathroom was a tad cramped), excellent service all round , good breakfast. The pool is lovely... More

We loved our, much too short, stay at Villa Maly. It was the icing on the cake for Luang Prabang which we also loved. We wish we could have spent more time there to enjoy the pool and spa (which seem to be well recommended). The rooms are small but really beautifully appointed. Old world charm. We could have done... This is a wonderful small boutique hotel with as many staff as guests, and who are all eager to help. It is tucked away in a quiet area only 500m from the main shops and restaurants, so in a great position for interesting evening strolls. The rooms have an old colonial feel and this means they are quite dark! Ours... More

This is a beautiful hotel. It is the service that was not good at all. The room given to us (beautiful) was by the restaurant. In the morning we woke up to plate clatter and people talking really loud and etc....at 5. When we asked if they could change our room please, the French lady who is the manager, very... More

Our family just spent 9 days in Luang Prabang at Villa Maly. Over all, we were quite pleased with our choice and would recommend it to others. First the negatives: *the breakfast buffet did not have any variation from day to day although what they did have was fresh and easy. For example, they had no omelets or pancakes but... More

We have just returned from a trip to Indochina and very much enjoyed our stay here when in Luang Prabang. It was very tranquil, with beautifully maintained gardens and rooms. The staff were most helpful and always around to assist if it was needed. We walked into the town for the restaurants and the night market (10 minutes or so... More

For us it was the perfect position, not far from the city and the night market. I enjoy the room but pool is too small. Service was ok without being good. Just 5 mn walking from the market and restaurant. Nice place

Absolute perfection in every respect. Beautiful tranquil surroundings amongst well kept gardens. Charming friendly staff always ready to provide information on where to go in Luang Probang. Learnt from receptionist of the handicraft village over the river by bamboo bridge and 25 minute walk which was lovely for early morning before it got too hot. At which stage the cool... More

My wife and I were on a 3 week trip through Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos with another couple. This was our last stop and we loved it. Beautiful property, great staff, and a wonderful place to realax at the end of the day. Treat yourself to a relaxing treat in the middle of Luang Prabang.

We spent 2 nights in Villa Maly in February 2014 and enjoyed the combination of warm welcome, personal attention, very comfortable high ceiling accommodation with four poster bed overlooking the front and side gardens and quite location with a definite taste of French colonial life.
