We stayed 4 nights and the overall experience is positive. The staff is very friendly and makes a good effort to offer good service. While the hotel is not 5 star, we were very happy with our choice. The location by the river is nice and there is an option to using the iron bridge. Turning left when exiting the... more

The location of this hotel was beautiful, right along the river. By car it was difficult to get to the hotel, but the hotel had free bicycles that you could use during your stay. Luang Prabang is a very bike friendly places, so the bikes do come in very handy. The town center is not that close to the hotel... more

My wife and I stayed at Le Belair Resort for 9 nights at the end of November 2009. In my mind, one of the strongest memories is that of the smiling gentleman who came to our table at breakfast every day and inquired in his best English "how are you enjoying yourselves?". He personified the engaging staff which made our... more

Accomodation in the bungalows where awesome (big and clean). Staff were brilliant, especially with our two and 4 year old boys. Breakfast was very yummy and made sure the boys started the day with a tummy full of good food. Location was excellent- we used the free bikes heaps to get around the town with the boys on the back.... more

In order to get from the hotel to town quickly there is a bridge obviously designed by someone who never saw Mel Brooks's old movie High Anxiety. The bridge only handles bicycles, motorcycles or on the edge of the bridge, foot traffic. Most people seem okay with it though the easiest way to handle things if you don't like heights... more

First of all, I've read through the other reviews for Le Bel Air, and I have to chuckle. "Treacherous" and "scary" bridge to reach the resort?! C'mon people. I even have a bit of a fear of heights and I didn't think the bridge was any big deal: on the contrary, it's extremely quaint. Built by the French, it's called... more

There is no way this "hotel" can garner a number 2 slot. I cant even call it a hotel. The place is way off the beaten path. Cant even see it from the road. Is a good distance from the town which requires navigating a treacherous bridge just go get there which at night is scary. Rooms were more like... more

First of all - THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR RESORT. Do not expect first class facilities and perfect language skills - this is Laos and not Thailand. The location is a bit out of the historic centre, directly at the Nam Khan River, next to the Old Bridge. If you walk you will need 10 Minutes into town if... more

I thought this was a lovely little hotel. The location beside the Old Bridge is picturesque, the rooms are fine albeit a little dark (who cares when you're only sleeping in them) and the bathroom was cave like! The staff were helpful and very friendly but not yet (all) confident in their roles, but are learning to provide a good... more
