This place is on a convenient spot to explore Luang Phrabang either on foot or by free bikes provided by the inn. It locates in the heart of the old town and near everything - the night market, the morning market, restaurants, cafes, Wat Xiengthong, the former royal palace and temples. Its location on the bank of Namkhan river is... More

We visited Luang Prabang during the chaotic new year festivities. Villa Ban Lakkham was mercifully distant from the loud music and water throwing, but a pleasant walk from the action. Breakfast at the riverside restaurant was a daily highlight (try the Laos Pancake) and service was friendly. Beware the slippery floors!

We stayed at Villa Ban Lakkham in Luang Prabang for 4 nights. Rooms are a little small, but the hotel is in a very quiet area one street off the main road and with views across the Namkhan River which runs into the Mekong half a mile away. The restaurant is on the river side of the road directly opposite.... More

The rooms comprises of riverfront views and their own private balcony. The rooms also have a mini bar, TV, free Wifi etc. The staffs are really lovely and helpful. This hotel from the outside looks very much like a lot of other hotels in Luang Prabang dark wood etc.It is on the quite side of town. The room that we had(no 4) was dark but this was due to the room being made of the dark wood but with all the lights on it was just about light enough(it... More

You really do not have much of view of the river. The hotel is on a noisy street, then there is an outdoor restaurant, then the river. You may be able to see a little bit of the river from your room. Rooms one thru eight are together and you can shut out a lot of the outside noise if... More

Our visit did not start well. Our pre-arranged airport pick up was 30 minutes late in arriving, the room safe did not work and the room toilet was blocked. It took almost 24hours for the toilet to be mended during which time we had to use the hotel public toilet and we eventually had to change rooms ( when one became... More

After spending one night on the ground level we asked to be moved to second floor with balcony. We found noise level and lack of privacy on the ground level. Second floor was much better. We found the room to be very dark due to type of wood/finish on walls. The shower was warm at varied times of day. Wi... More

Stacks of character Villa Ban Lakkham we just loved the view while having breakfast, the monks crossing the river in the distance, little boats fishing, although across the road this was no problem. Small coal fires were placed under our feet to keep us warm on the early mornings as turned a little cool, then heated up by 10am. Staff... More

There are little corners of the world, small places that are so special that they are intensely personal and life-affirming. They are so nourishing and resonant as they are RIGHT NOW that you just don't want to even share them with anyone. The Villa Ban Lakkhan is just such a place, balancing that gentle LP vibe with a engaging boutique... More
