After staying in a noisy guesthouse near Joma Bakery, my girlfriend and I decided to search around for a quieter place. We were lucky to stumble across Villa Suan Maak. After staying in a hotel in the center we decided to change to Villa Suan Maak. With its lovely garden, great breakfast, comfy rooms it's great value for money. Not to mentoin the nice staff who helped us renting a motorbike to go to the waterfall.

I stayed there for only two nights and took off really relaxed. I like the building former a french house and the people. I will go back there next year. Verry clean, everybody has to take off the shoes :-) Nice garden, a good a safe place for my expensive e- bike. Greetings Gerry

I stayed a pretty lenghy and comfortable amount of time in Suan Maak, it was always a nice refuge from the city to come back to every day. Me, my wife and our five year old son had a great stay at "Villa Suan Maak" and we will definitely come back. I can really recommend this place for your next trip to this Luang Prabang! Great with wireless connection on the hotel so that we could run som digital errands too!

The biggest annoyance was most definite the lack of a reception. The owner, a westener, was out most of the times, which left for an unattended reception, after waiting a while there was someone coming but ni english at all. Don't get me wrong, Villa Suan Maak is a nice place by any guest house standards, I just didn't think that the price was justified. Having come from Vientiane and Luang Prabang, this was the most expensive, however the front desk operator also knew the least English and while he was helpful, there was only so much he could do...
