I write this review just having completed a stay here. The cost of a tiny room with out a window was $144 US. We decided to stay here because the reviews were all so positive. I was disappointed to say the least. While the pictures on the internet certainly give a fair impression of its physical attributes there are a... More

YES, a really good establishment, in a relatively quiet area of Mandalay, good rooms, first class staff and an excellent chef in their Indian themed restaurant with many non-Indian dishes to cater for all tastes. The landscaping with a water feature provides a relaxing environment for guests and, for those so inclined, a business area with computing/printing facilities is available.... More

The hotel is for sure very friendly and looks after every guest. The day you arrive your name is written in big letters on a sort of poster with a sweet little text. The day you leave they also make a souvenire photo, which they send you later. The pool is very small and the room are also more on... More

The Hotel by the Red Canal has a staff which consistently makes the guest feel welcome and wanted. The service is always excellent. The rooms are pleasant and relaxing. The breakfast buffet needs improvement in quality and quantity. I expect to stay at the Red Canal in all subsequent visits.

We happened to be in Mandalay during the Water Festival while on tour and were booked at the Hotel by the Red Canal. The hotel is a walled upscale mini-resort with its own pool and restaurant which is like an oasis in an ok part of the city across from the old palace. What makes the hotel stay magical is... More

This hotel stay was refreshing from the norm that you expect in the U.S. Plus, the staff were amazing. They were helpful, kind and respectful from the start, and they really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect. While the rooms were a bit on the smaller size, the atmosphere of the accommodations more than made... More

Location is great you are close to the Royal Palace, Mandalay Hill and other beautiful monasteries and Pagodas. The hotels give bikes for free and you can easily visit from there. Also great restaurants around such as Green Elephant. The venue and spa are also very nice as is breakfast and food. Service cannot be better. They have set the... More

We went on holiday to Mandalay last year, just the 2 of us. I have to say that Its far more romantic than I expected. From the dreamy blue pool to the palm tree walkways. Mandalay is a couples dream. But more than the destination...this hotel was quite outstanding too. Very cheap for what you pay for. Its slightly smaller... More

Highly recommend this small gem, a retreat after a hot day of visiting temples. Room with front porch by their brook was relaxing and lovely. Room itself was cozy with wood interior. Minor: Bathtub lovely, but a bit hard to get in and out. A bit pricey for the country, but overall best hotel we stayed at in Myanmar. Hotel... More
