What impressed to me the most in our stay in the hotel was the excellent quality staff. They are very kind all the time, and they are ever disposed to help you with a smile. Most of them speak a good english. The Hotel has been created like a small Oasis in the city center of Mandalay. The comfortability of... more

Tucked away in a quiet side street is this really pleasant modern hotel. Décor is stylish without being lavish and the rooms are immaculately presented. Small pool area, not what you’d use for a day by the pool but then I don’t imagine anyone is in Mandalay for sunning themselves. Quiet and pleasant for cooling off at the end of... more

This lovely boutique hotel is located a 10-15 minute walk from the Palace. The grounds are beautiful and there is a freeform pool. The staff are the most helpful, friendly, and accommodating that you will find anywhere!! I booked a Rakhine suite (they are actually rooms not suites) but was upgraded to a Chan suite, as it was the off-season... more

We booked two suites throgh our agency and had a confirmation with us. When we arrived we got two dark rooms -not suites - wthout window but a door to an outdoor shower. We explained, that this did not at all meet our expectaions. The staff transfered us to two other rooms at the ground floor with a small terrace.... more

Stayed at the Hotel by the Red Canal for two nights in mid-February. We were lucky enough to get the Shan Suite on the 3rd floor with a great balcony overlooking the pool. The best view in the hotel. Other rooms either have an unusable balcony or a view of the uninspiring street. We had issues with hot water and... more

We stayed at the Red Canal Hotel for two nights in January. What impressed us was the attitude of the staff towards making guests comfortable. We were first shown a room (no. 201) that had a view of the pool. The room was very nice, but was a bit near the generators (apparently almost every establishment and restaurant has a... more

The Hotel By The Red Canal is a very nice boutique hotel located in a calm neighbourhood in Mandalay. Service is friendly and helpful, rooms are beautiful -though standard rooms are a bit too small. more

My family and I spent three nights in Mandalay at the end of December and enjoy every moment of our staying in this small and lovely hotel. Not only it's an oasis in the busy city of Mandalay where you are happy to return, but from the first moment when you walk through the gate, every detail tells about the... more

We enjoyed our stay here. The first room they showed us was quite large with a nice balcony overlooking the pool, it had a little sitting space with a table and couch. However, as seems to always happen to us in Asia, it had two separate beds (it was for my husband and I, so we obviously prefer one big... more
