I'm not sure if Mandalay is particularly mosquito-infested, or if it's because of the hotel's proximity to the Palace moat, or if it's because the lobby is not air-conditioned, but we had the most problems with mosquitoes here during our trip to Myanmar in January 2008. We stayed at the Mandalay View Inn for 2 nights in February. It is well situated, but still in a calm area. They also will rent you bikes so it is very easy to get around Mandalay from there. I should say it was a nice and pleasant experience, when I stepped into Hotel Mandalay View inn,on my last visit to Myanmar at summer 07.
