the internet won't work, mosquitos would trouble you, Tap water smelled, used bottled water to brus, the linen and towels were cleaned though, though it would be much cheaper than sadona being at same location, big mistake, sifted to sedona next day

The hotel is quite a well located but from the first moment you see how much much out of date it is. Swiming pool is nice but wifi working really extremy bad and only in loby. It is hard t find any restauratnt arount. Next time i would prefer to stay somewhere else.

Mandalay is changing fast. Prices of most hotels have doubled or tripled in the past 2 years, but the Swan has remained affordable and now is really good value for its good central location, free Wifi, and quietness. You pay triple for going to the Sedonna next door - for their food and room. The Swan has been refurbished in... More

I'm traveling w my sister who has lived in Burma for a year and is used to the charming culture but also the problems w money and foreigners. Yet this hotel was still so terrible at check in that we refused to stay. In addition to charging double rates for foreigners, they demanded payment in US dollars (at conveniently offered... More

I stay in this hotel in may 2014 for business. Myanmar is a beautifull country, but poor! His infrastructure is also poor! I get also problems with mosquitos, but more in the lobby, and when you have a good product, they don't touch you!! About the Wifi, I had the chance to live in a room near the reception. So... More

Ive stayed in some 53 countries and in thousands of hotels but couldn't describe the true extent of how terrible this hotel is. There are mosquito problems, I think they are the only guests who like the hotel. There is only internet in the lobby, and when for 10 hours straight it didn't work and I continually complained, I was... More

As a traveller to Asia, the constant fear of malaria or dengue fever...or some stomach bug is never far from my mind. Upon entrance to this hotel, the first of these fears became a reality. The hotel lobby - and it further expands to rooms, is inundated by mosquitos. I don't know if it was the time of the year... More

Bedrooms and foyer overrun with mosquitoes, this would be particularly hazardous in Dengue season. Customer service is limited. I do not hold staff to blame overall they are pleasant and obliging though they clearly need better training. Issues. really poor internet connectivity and no internet available in the room. Noisy air-conditioning, poor room cleaning. One staff member involved in food... More

When I first stayed at Mandalay Swan, some ten years ago, I felt it was unexceptional and wallowing in averageness. On a recent visit I was struck by how they have maintained that tradition of mediocrity. On the good side: decent breakfast, good egg lady. Room size was ok and quiet. Clean enough, but a few mosquitoes. But acceptable overall.... More
