Arriving at the Mandalay Hill resort after a long day in dusty, sweltering Mandalay feels like reaching an oasis. While the rooms themselves are pretty dated and charmless, the gardens and beautiful pool, as well as the superb views over the hills cluttered with golden pagodas, make up for it. The partition door between family rooms are too thin, thusnot... More

Typical nice room in a big hotel. The only negative was that we could hear the traditional folk dance show takes place every night until 9pm in our room. The only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast which was a very good buffet.

This hotel is in a reasonable condition, but a little dated which should not be a surprise in Mandalay. The wi-fi is free and works well. The rooms are a good size. Bathroom is large with a bath. There is a fair bit of noise coming from the bar area with bands that seem to go into the early hours... More

We stayed 2 nights during a tour. The hotel is huge but not impersonal. Free wifi Fabulous breakfasts, such a wide varied selection to suit all. A very nice bar area with evening live music. We stayed in room 430 which had a fantastic view of Mandalay Hill, very pretty lit up at night. A very enjoyable stay & would... More

The hotel is tired and will need to be updated to fulfil the needs of hoards of tourists heading for Myanmar. Our room was clean and quiet. The garden and pool area was very spacious with a hugh pool, gym and garden resturants, where the chef cooked as you ordered on a large Korean barbeque. Then there was a cultural... More

This hotel is dated and very busy with large tour groups. It looks amazing from the pictures and the grounds are beautiful but we weren't able to use the pool area. Closed for a wedding. Too bad for all the hotel guests. Loud music both nights we were there. I would not stay here again.

Stayed three nights in January 2015 while touring Myanmar (Burma). Rooms are a bit dated and the plumbing certainly leaves a lot to be desired with taps loose and the shower button broken but clean enough. The public areas were well kept and the food in the restaurant was a fair standard but they're not very good on replenishing the... More

This hotel is an ok three stars hotel which charging $3 for can of coke & foods is ok but expensive. With loud music at the back, which should end at 9pm but still going strong after 10.30pm. Also the only hotel did not make effort for our honeymoon. This hotel for me was an great disappointment.

This is a four star hotel for Mandalay probably 3 star elsewhere. Reminds me of a dated Hilton or Sheraton. Large hotel so most of the tour groups stay here and its quite bustling. The grounds are quite nice and try to get a view of Mandalay Hill which is nice and has a beautiful sunset. The buffet breakfast is... More

it should be a luxury hotel but there are certain things that puzzled me. Service at the restaurant is very very confused and dining is overpriced (32 $ per person for buffet, or 38 $ for buffet plus a little live entertainment, while outside you could dine very well in regular restaurants for just 10 $ ...). Spa services are... More
