We spent just one night in this more-or-less four star hotel, well located at the SE corner of the former royal palace and about 2 km from the city centre. Many of the rooms have a great view over the palace area and on to Mandalay Hill. The entrance, public areas and big pool are spacious but the feel is... more

I stayed with my husband a few nights at the Sedona Hotel in September 2006. One of the main reasons were their pool and being able to pay buy international credit card which is not commonly accepted at other places. The hotel is a standard hotel, rooms are ok, maybe a bit old-fashioned and could use a renovation. But staff... more

Luckily we spent only one day in this hotel. It could have been any hotel anywhere in the world. There was nothing distinctive about it; it is average at best. Admittedly, the rooms were quite clean. The breakfast included in our rate was average as well. We felt safe coming and going from the hotel even at late hours. Would... more

I have spent hundreds of nights in hotels right around the world and can say that my stay at the Sedona Hotel was the worst ever. An absolute nightmare from start to finish. Don't stay there - stay at the Mandalay Hill Resort instead. Beware the water festival in April each year - do not stay at this hotel then... more

We stayed 5 nights in Mandalay in the Sedona (my husband is American, I am German, we live in Korea) at the end of February just when the weather changed to really hot. We didn't regret a single moment. The location is convenient. We loved our comfortable room (poolside). The air-condition was fine. The buffet in the morning was extensive,... more

If you stay at this hotel make sure you leave all your valuables inside the safe. My wife left her cellphone on the night table and when we came back it was gone. The hotel management didn't handle the situation well at all, they just repeated "that's never happened here" and "it must be somewhere in the room", but took... more

The Sedona is a large hotel with the typical amenities (pool, restaurants, gift shop, etc). It was hard to remember I was in Burma, there was very little to remind you inside the rooms. Some rooms do have a nice view of the palace moat and temple on the hill. I experienced problems with the air conditioner. The controls in... more

Sedona is probably one of the most luxirious and comfortable hotel in Mandalay. Globally speaking, the overall is ok, our room was located in higher floors and enabled us to enjoy a wonderful view of the lake. The room was clean, well furnished and the staff was helpful and efficient. The only thing we regret is the lack of a... more

We stayed at the Sedona 2 nights. The room was OK, just average, there is a buffet breakfast, waiters not very professional, or well groomed also did not make you feel particularly welcome. The entrance hall, which is very very large and comprises also a bar and a restaurant both with their respective doors open, is full of mosquitos like... more

The Sedona is a first class international hotel that takes credit cards ( with a 4% surcharge). Room 358 has a nice balcony overlooking the old palace and Mandalay Hill. Service is excellent, nice pool and a useable gym. The Italian restaurant (Uno )is pretty good but the buffet in Cafe Mandalay is just adequete. more
