Considering the huge and high hotel rates in Myanmar, this is an excellent option when traveling to Mandalay. Good location. Clean. Reasonable prices. Excellent breakfast which is served up in the terrace. Helpful staff. Rooms not too big, but enough. With a supplement you can have air conditioning. Stayed during four nights end October 2013.

This is not a bad place at all to stay. The staff is very friendly (like most people in Myanmar). They couldn't help me with everything, but that was not because they were unhelpful, they just didn't know some things that tourists would be interested in knowing. The breakfast on the rooftop is nice, and so is the room. Having... More

The hotel doesn't have much atmosphere but it is okay for a few nights. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but they helped you when you asked them. We made use of the scooter rental which was perfect for a tour around the greater Mandalay region.

This was our first hotel in Myanmar and it wasn't a let down , they helped carry our 25kg sacks up the stairs and were very helpful . Hotels in Myanmar are very different from what you would expect in other modern parts of asia but they are comfy, friendly and well run with a warm smile and are charming... More

3 nights experience: first one in a small room on the roof (4th floor) for 10$. Don't do it, unless you really have got no more money left for beer. It is noisy, and your toilet / shower is the one on the first floor... The following 2 nights I spent in a decent 15$ room. A little smelly, but... More

We booked through Agoda and they let us down!!! They charge about $10 more than what the price really is for a room. The hotel itself charges $25US for a double. Agoda tries to tell you it is over $50US a night but it is definitely not. We found out the hard way but luckily we only booked one night.... More

Considering the huge price hikes for accommodation in Myanmar, AD1 is very good value for money. Yes its very basic, but clean, everything works fine, internet is a bit slow (but unless you stay in a high end place, this is just regularly the case in this country). Breakfast is very, very decent and the rooftop is great. I also... More

I stayed here for 2 nights and got no sleep at all,the hotel is located down a narrow lane which is currently under construction and its very near a rather nice pagoda where the music starts at 3am. I paid my bill for 2nights with $100 bill, got $70 back in change which the girl at reception refused to change to... More

The room was obviously basic for the price but the hot water always worked, it was clean and they serve a great breakfast on the roof. Actually, it was the best breakfast I had at guesthouse in Myanmar because besides the usual toast (with butter/jam) and an egg, it also came with different fruits and either rice with chickpeas mixed... Located down a quiet, local side street that has plenty of charm. Also close to one of the locals market and a Buddhist temple. The hotel was quit nice for a basic, cheap option. Rooms were clean however the towels were pretty grim, they could do with a new set! Breakfast was served on the roof. Only on option but... More
