Not sure what a good location is in Mandalay since the city is so sprawling and there aren't too many sights to see in town. This hotel did the job of having a spot to hit the hay for a few nights. Rooms aren't too big, but wifi is available everywhere in the building, which isn't always the case in... More

A belated review! We stayed overnight in December 2012. We tried to book this hotel from Australia, but prices kept going up and then was shown as unavailable. In the end, we walked into a travel agent's office in Yangon, asked for a room in Mandalay, and this hotel was the cheapest option. It cost around $54AUD for the night... More

First off, Mandalay is not my favorite place and there wasn't much in the city that I liked. This being said, Hotel Queen was a clean and comfortable place to stay in the city. While they could do some updating (carpet a bit worn and old looking), it's not bad. Walking on the streets around the hotel was a definite... More

We enjoyed the Hotel Queen. The room was big and comfortable. The staff is welcoming and the breakfast is excellent. The bartenders make a pretty decent Margarita!!!! The location is within walking distance of the excellent Super 81 restaurant and the Moustache Brothers!!

A simple but nice room, pretty small though. Clean. Friendly staff, very comprehensive after all the troubles we got into on a trip to Kathar. Good breakfast as well. 60$ for a twin bed room. The travel agency is very efficient. Compared to Smart Hotel, it's a good value.

I thought this hotel was perfectly fine for the rate I paid of about $40. The staff was very friendly & attentive and the room was large & clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom could use an update, but it was still clean. The wifi/internet was one of the better ones that I experienced during my time in Myanmar.... More

Big but slightly tired room. Not really near anywhere you'd want to go. Restaurant/ breakfast just ok. Staff v friendly and helpful. Nothing wrong with it but left me wanting something more. Mind you, I felt like that about Mandalay generally!

This hotel is a little more expensive than others I stayed in on my recent trip but in the dusty, hot city of Mandalay to come back each night to a big, well appointed room with effective air conditioning and a great shower made it well worth the extra dollars. The bed was large and comfortable, the breakfasts great and... More

My group of 11 enjoyed our four nights at Hotel Queen. The food was very good, the lobby a comfy place to hang out, and the rooms had everything we needed. It is located in a relatively quiet area, which we also thought was nice. In the evening we walked to the Night Market--- small but friendly---- some good bargains... More

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst places we stayed during our three week trip to Myanmar. The rooms were very cramped, had an awful smell, was noisy and overall, lacked character. The wifi did not work. The staff were not very friendly either, and made no real effort to help us. The breakfast was terrible, with very limited choice... More
