We spent at Rupar Mandalar 2 nights in August 2015 in a Premier Suite. The property is situated outside the city of Mandalay on the south side, so it is quite convenient to reach the airport or to travel to Bagan or Inle Lake, but can be a problem to go out for dinner at night or for sightseeing if... Whenever I come to Mandalay, I usually stay at the Sedona and Mandalay Hill, but it gets boring and I wanted to try out something new, so I chose Rupar Mandalar Resort. Sedona is the most centrally located, then Mandalay Hill Resort, and Rupar Mandalar is further out, but if you have a car, it shouldn't really be a problem.... More

The Rupar Mandalar Resort could qualify as a self-contained vacation "destination" with its beautiful, well maintained grounds, luxurious accommodations and sumptuous dining, which in the evening, depending on timing and where seated, can include a traditional puppet show and dances (by actors mimicking the marionettes). By world standards, it is even fairly priced. However, I cannot imagine going to Myanmar... More

- Lobby & ground - new hotel so everything was new and clean. Supporting poles gave the hotel unique character. The ground was vey pleasant. In the front garden it had an impressive tree trunk with two carved figures of the king and okra & a large jade stone about 7 tonnes & were told valued at €1.6m - Location... More

We were here for 3 nights and had a number of things pre-booked, but when it came to wanting to walk around town we were a fair way away, so we took a taxi. The one booked by the hotel was twice as expensive as the return trip, but not too many passing taxis, so . . . The rooms... More

We stayed for 3 nights with kids aged 3, 5 and 8. The family room was amazing. It was probably the same size as our entire apartment at home. The swimming pool is great, especially with kids. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Wifi exists, although I would not call it fast (but I... More

My husband and I visited Rupar Mandalar Resort in March 2015 during our incredible 2,5-week trip to Myanmar. Resort was really beautiful. We received a wonderful complementary spa treatment upon our arrival, which was really nice. Everyone who worked in the resort was fantastic and very accommodating. My husband loved the gym. Our room was really nice and I loved... More

What a lovely hotel - super clean, charming staff, beautiful grounds and the perfect oasis from hectic Mandalay. Great food - brilliant selection of Thai, Chinese, Burmese and other dishes, all brilliantly cooked (we had heard the food in Burma was not great). The staff were super smiley and accommodating. The only drawback is the very noisy dogs that make... More

We came in family. Very nice swimming-pool and a 20 minutes free massage when arriving. Rooms are very nice, all in wood. Not far from the center-town, Staff is nice. We saw a show with marionets, and local danses (a bit too long).

At first glance, it all looks great, especially the pool. The deluxe rooms are very large and then you discover a bathroom too small for a separate shower and that the room actually backs on to a noisy road. We were woken at 4.30am by impossibly loud music from a nearby building. None of that would have mattered if the... More
