At first glance, it all looks great, especially the pool. The deluxe rooms are very large and then you discover a bathroom too small for a separate shower and that the room actually backs on to a noisy road. We were woken at 4.30am by impossibly loud music from a nearby building. None of that would have mattered if the... More

Very comfortable and relaxing stay at Rupar which is built out of What looks like Burmese hardwoods (Teak?). It feels like an authentic experience but there's not much to choose from in this town. Service is very friendly but the bellboy couldn't be bothered to carry our bags. If the $1.3 million jade pieces had been spent on training and... More

Stayed at this Hotel as part of a small group on an organised tour. We had deluxe room number 005 which overlooked the drive and gardens. This was one of the most spacious and well appointed rooms on our trip. As is the norm room lighting is not bright so can come across as a bit gloomey with all that... More

After a wonderful day long boat trip from Bagan to Mandalay, we were driven through the rather bustling streets of Mandalay to this gorgeous hotel on the edge of town. We were only here one night, but we would have enjoyed a much longer stay. Since we really didn't get a look at Mandalay, I can't comment on the city,... More

I'll start with the fact that this is my first ever Trip Advisor hotel review. We just stayed there in early Feb. 2015 for 2 nights. Great looking facility once you get there but it is out of town a bit. The hotel put on a nightly puppet show and/or ethnic dancers to entertain the dinner crowd and that was... More

We really loved our stay in Rupar Mandalar Resort. We stayed in the new building which has 2 floors and is brand new. It is very nicely decorated (reminds Bali or high end Thailand resorts), has a lot of real teak wood decors, rooms are huge. Pool is very big and perfect for early morning swimming. We did not feel... More

A really nice hotel, teak from top to bottom, with most obliging staff, we enjoyed our large room, the nice breakfast, & had the big pool to ourselves on two occasions. The complimentary cocktails were a lovely way to start the evening, in the courtyard bar. While the food was quite nice in the restaurant (my partner loved his beef... More

Don't eat dinner at the restaurant! A lovely hotel with smiling attentive staff in a gorgeous garden setting but the food in the restaurant is dire and overpriced. We ordered a Chinese set menu at 30 dollars a head...an expensive meal by Mynmar standards. This must be the worst Chinese meal we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Our... More

This hotel has lovely gardens and rooms. The staff were all very friendly but the restaurant service was shocking. Staff stood around while plates piled up. We walked 10 minutes to another restaurant down the road called A Little Bit of Mandalay and enjoyed the meals there. The pool is nice. The gym equipment is in desperate need of a... More
